Here is a tiny sampling of exquisite one-over-one stitching by artist Terrence Nolan of Dimples Designs. Heavy on the 'bug-end' right now, if you're not into 'creepy crawly-things'... try his Soda Pop Antique Santa! Each design is presented in complete kit format with beautiful, clear charts, metallic threads individually bagged and labeled, and all flosses and threads pre-sorted and tied onto labeled thread palettes for you. If the pattern requires lots of backstitching... you will have extra charts that show only that detail in relation to the rest of the design. Make note of all these wonderful little ladybugs... each is less than 1 inch in size... so total design areas are actually very petite! Our first model -- the set of six red ladybugs -- has arrived back from the stitcher. These designs are SO exquisite, that our precious model has earned a safe place inside our front display case. The sheer size, the color shading, the complexity of the design... everything.. make these breathtaking!
Christmas Wishes The Silver Needle is proud to debut Terrence Nolan's newest design for Dimples Designs! Christmas Wishes is Terrence's adaptation of a turn-of-the-century Christmas Card, and it is STUNNING! With a stitch count of 359 x 232... and a DMC color listing of 100 different colors.. it is a companion to Christmas Kisses... and just as intricately awesome! Santa is here... wrapping his arms around all his dolls and toys.. for his favorite girls and boys. He's keeping them safe and away from the blowing snow, because it's 'delivery night' you know...! Intense, bold colors, SOLID stitching, I look at this chart, and know I'll do better enjoying the cover photograph!!! This, as with Christmas Kisses, is not for the weak-of-stitcher!!! Christmas Kisses Terrence Nolan of Dimples Designs has treated The Silver Needle to a LOVELY vintage Christmas design -- his adaptation of a turn-of-the-century Christmas card! My words can't describe how beautiful this piece is 'in person.' It is stitched in DMC flosses -- 90 different colors -- with gold metallic blending filament and #4 braid accenting the border and 'A Joyful Christmas' lettering. The piece is solid stitching, so fabric choice is really personal preference. Offered in chart form -- the 358 x 212 piece finishes 22 x 13 if you stitch it on 32ct linen. There is a full kit available, which includes 22ct Antique White Hardanger... making the finished piece approx 16 x 10. All the flosses are pre-sorted and beautifully tied onto numbered palettes in the kit -- almost too pretty to open and use!!! (actually, a very good value, too!) Soda Pop Santa You'll smile when you recognize this Jolly guy -- he's reminiscent of the antique Santa from the Coca-Cola days of old! Designed by Dimples Designs, this is an original rendition of that Santa memory, and is beautifully detailed and presented. Offered as a complete kit, Soda Pop Santa is stitched on 32ct Lambswool Linen, and is loaded with Kreinik metallic blending filaments and braids, Mill Hill beads, and 4 shades of thin, furry Rainbow Gallery Wisper thread. (This is what gives the beard so much depth and the realistic look!) Not for a beginning stitcher, the chart is very detailed, and is presented in 4 different ways -- each offers separate backstitch details! The flosses are pre-sorted and tied onto the thread palette, so that's a bonus! Soda Pop Santa measures a mere 4 x 5... and will be a DEFINITE heirloom -- to be displayed the year through!
Yellow and Red Ladybug Duets We have a new set of smaller companions to Dimples Design's recent ladybug releases! If you have admired our sets of 6 yellow and red ladybugs... then you might want these smaller versions, too. Mini Scarab Duet Two more little beetles that must not have been ready to join the first set of 6 bugs! HOW can all that color and detail fit into this TINY 2 x 2-1/2 piece??? Exquisite... these have history! Highly sought after and prized in the Victorian Era, scarab shells were used as necklaces and earrings, and also mounted and framed for the parlor. Mini Ladybugs 2 More little, delicate bugs... these are the yellow kind that you see every-so-often! (I've never actually thought about how rarely I see the yellow ones... but I know they're special...) Just like our red ones, these are incredibly involved... stitched over one thread on 32ct Glenshee linen... and are miniature works of needleart! Composed of gorgeous yellow, golds, mustards, and into browns (28 different DMCs... plus 12 tweeded blends...!), the complete kit offers the linen, all the threads pre-tied onto numbered palettes, metallics and lots of detailed charts to help with all the backstitch detail. Just do one for a tiny fob... or stitch the whole piece... it measures only 4 x 4-3/4 inches!!! Exquisite!
Mini Ladybugs I have always liked these little guys... and since I bought Soda Pop Santa from Dimples Designs, I picked up these, as well! Terribly intricate, each is stitched over one thread on the provided 32ct Natural Glenshee Linen in brilliant shades of DMC flosses and Kreinik red/gold metallics. Presented as the complete kit of charts, linen, flosses and metallics, the entire picture measures just 4 x 5, so imagine that each ladybug is only 1 x 1! (Smaller than most of the bugs in the state of Texas!!!) Not for the weak-of-stitcher, there are several charts for each bug to help with all the different backstitch colors. Absolutely breathtaking... these are tiny, realistic works of art! (Don't even think about squishing one!)
