Just something fun we'll have for a while, till they're gone... this is a bar magnet that has been painted with our shop name, and a little stitching cabin nestled in the woods! We had them done in honor of our Camp Wannasew Stitching Weekends this fall!

The magnet is painted with 1-inch increments, so it really is a 3-inch measure. Your stitching board would love one of these!

Straight from Italy, come these charming 100% solid beeswax 'waxers.' Something pretty to store in a sewing case, beeswax is used to strengthen and condition threads. You can run your threads across it before stitching... but most do not. Instead, the waxer itself, is the tiny collectable.

Beeswax doesn't melt, doesn't get soft and droopy, doesn't attract dust and get 'mangy'... and it has a lovely, fresh, unique fragrance. Something pretty I've found!

Oh gosh, joining our bright lime green springy frog frig magnet is this fun character -- a monkey! Absolutely nothing to do with cross stitch, these are just fun trinkets that have magnets in all four hands and feet.

The springy arms and legs let you position them any number of ways, to let your tiny friends multi-task! They're so floppy in your hands, they're kind of fun just to play with!

Nothing fancy here, just a 5-1/2 x 8 inch white flexible sheet of magnetic material... with two more magnetic bars included. Just like the hard metal magnetic boards we used to see so much, this is a smaller, bendable version, with no sharp edges, that fits easily into a tote bag and doesn't weigh so much!

Sampler artist Linda Lautenschlager has taken her very own designs... shrinking... shrinking... shrinking them down... and somehow scanning, printing and attaching them to magnetic material, so that we have tiny 2 x 2 and 2 x 3 magnets! Miniature printed creations of her work... I chose my favorite 11 designs to start out our collection!!! Use them on your magnetic board to hold your pattern or keep your place.

Linda told me at Market that you could put these on your refrigerator -- and they could do IMPORTANT jobs - like health maintenance and inspiration! Hey, this is cool stuff!!! 'Scotch Type Tape' that has the tackiness of sticky papers... tear a piece off your roll... place it over your chart line, or beside the instructions you're following... you can see right through it! Not too sticky... the colors are clear and bright, this is like using a see-through sticky-note!

So... as a stitcher, this is great, because you can use it to keep your place on your chart, without keeping track of a highlighter marker, and scribbling up your whole chart! Totally no-brainer, and really fun! Available in three colors, 1/2 an inch wide (covers 3 typewritten lines) x 393 inches on a roll.

Even more new English Resin creatures have been added to our *Zoo* of collectable little magnetic needle holders! Usually about 1 x 1-1/2 inches in size, we get two finishes of creatures -- the white is called 'Ivory' and the brown is referred to as 'Mahogany.'

Nicely antiqued pieces, they are magnetized so you can just leave your needle on them between threads! We have quite a selection of these little guys; they have always been popular in the shop!

Miniature animals -- actually very strong needle magnets -- these are just the cutest! Available in a creme or mahogony color, made of a resin material, we have two styles of cats, owl, pig, and darling a hedgehog who's rolling over on his back, with his fat little tummy face up!!! Magnetic inside, these hold your stray needle or threader, and look cute whether or not they're doing anything at all!!! Measuring approx 1-3/4 inches, they're cute for animal collectors!

This is a cool ruler case with a matching scissor fob... such a fun and useful thing to have in your stitching basket! Stitched on 32ct Graziano Linen in green, colonial blue and gold colors, the ruler case fits the engraved brass ruler that's included in the kit. The matching fob features the twisted corded edge just like the ruler case... and all that cording is included in the kit! Finishing instructions are in there too! Complete kit includes the linens, flosses, edging, and the beautiful brass ruler! So Special!

Oh my gosh... I've found some lovely antique-flavored Mother-of-Pearl buttons... some are etched, some cut-out, all exquisitely decorated, and beautifully shaped! 'What for', you ask??? Special Sewing, Needle, and Scissor Case closures! Biscornu buttons!!! While we were pricing them in the shop, we lamented that they are 'too pretty to sell!' Iridescent with a glisteny pearl color, we have 6 styles available for only a short time! (coming from Italy, I have no idea if I can really get more or not!)

I imagine our scans will help you decide on your favorites... sometimes that special stitched piece demands an exquisite button closure... these are IT! The 10 petal one (#55) varies in size a little from 4/8 to 5/8 in diameter. #53 and #48 are 5/8 in diameter, the rest are 4/8... or 1/2 an inch. I love the #47 flower -- I've never seen a button like it! The detail -- carvings and etchings -- on these are just wonderful, shapes are so graceful, quality is apparent.

#47 has a shank on the back -- that means a separate metal loop. They do not lay flat like the rest of the buttons, but it works for biscornus very well, while offering a 'tie point' for twisted cording. All of these are ivory in color -- not a bright white -- so old and 'antique-y' come to mind! Absolutely Exquisite! Prices listed are for individual buttons.

September '08 update: We've received another shipment of European Mother-of-Pearl buttons -- carved or embossed -- that are exquisite as biscornu centers, or closures on special needle and sewing cases. Very limited in supply... I doubt that we'll be able to get more after this latest shipment has sold. Just a real short-time treat!!!

#21 measures 9/16 of an inch, and is a whiter finish. #22 is the same size, but it has a darker pearl color. Both feature a shank back. #23 is almost 3/4 of an inch, embossed and carved (how do they DO that?) and features a shank backing. #36 is just like the 22 and 23, only it is PINK!!! Think Pink!!! Just lovely.

Joining our selection of super-favorite soft plastic zipping pouches... is this new size! From K's Creations, this is a cool, collapsible foot stool that's just the right size for us stitchers! Raising your feet a little off the floor can take so much stress off your lower back... you'll be amazed! Easy to fold up and tuck into your tote bag, this smoothly finished oak stool measures just 5 1/2 x 11, and 5" high. The legs fold up under it, and a fancy bolt fastens them in place, making a bundle that is only 3" thick! It takes 2 seconds to unfold... and is just the right size to tuck under your feet while you're stitching! Perfect for stitching weekends, traveling, whatever!

Yet another cute crocheted little animal covering a plastic tape measure... you pull this little guy's tail to find your 60-inch tape measure. Press his tummy, and it all goes back in again! We have quite a collection of these tape measures... sheep, bumblebees, ladybugs, flowers, even some Christmas Peppermints!

Just something fun for the stitching bag. Especially good for the kitchen drawer, because some family members wouldn't be caught using one!!!

We have three charming, functional 60-inch/150-cm retractable tape measures... all covered with hand-done crochet that looks like flowers!!! Joining our ladybugs and birthday cakes... these are made through an Education and Income special project, designed to revive the cultural handicrafts of Vietnam. So... they DO come all the way from Vietnam!

I love keeping these in my stitch bag, or the kitchen drawer... my husband doesn't seem to use them... but they always disappear when my daughter has been around... hmmm...! Pretty, functional and fun!

Well... I guess you can have your cake... and it looks good enough to eat... but I think it has too much fiber!!! We have the cutest little hand-crocheted layer cake tape measures... who would have thought???! The *absolutely perfect* birthday gift... this is a simple 5-ft plastic tape measure that has been covered with a crocheted layer cake! Doily around bottom is festive... the first layer hides the tape, and the second layer is a pin cushion!!!

Squeeze the bottom of the cake, and tape retracts. Measuring an overall 3 x 1-1/2 inches... it's just the silliest little thing... just delightful! Cakes come in 'assorted icing colors!' *Quite the conversation piece!!!*

Home needs only to be your stitching basket!!! Oh my gosh... here is another miniature personality' that doubles as a functional part of everyday life! Our 60-inch retractable tape measure is disguised as a ladybug, complete with sequin spots! She is hand crocheted and covers a small plastic tape measure -- just like our sheep and bumble bees! She measures approx 2-1/2 round by 1-inch high... and even though ladybugs do not have 'tails'... this one has a 'pull tab' for the tape. Squeeze the underside belly to retract. Precious!

I have to share a story with you. I have these tape measures in my kitchen 'junk drawer' at home, because I love them! I've had to measure things for painters and plumbers... they always *take pause* when I whip out one of my cute tape measures!!! Like -- they think my inches aren't the same as theirs???

Bright yellow and crisp black velveteen make up his stripes... and he features wired mesh wings and beaded feelers!!! Measuring approx 2-1/2 inches round, pull on busy-bee's tail... and you'll get a 60-inch tape measure that retracts when you squeeze his tummy! You can even sculpt those little wings!!! So much fun for your stitching bag, desk at work, the kitchen tool drawer, cute perched by your sewing machine... stick him with your plants... so you always know where you have a tape measure! Sheep Tape Measure

Oh my gosh, this is THE cutest little guy!!! A little furry acrylic 'woolen' lamb is the secret hiding place for a very handy tape measure!!! Pull on his little tail... and a 60-inch/150cm tape measure comes out!!! Then, squeeze his belly a bit... and away it goes! Measuring approx 3 x 3, and about an inch thick, our little lambs have ultra-suede feet, ears and face, are just the thing for a stitching bag!!! What a fun little gift... he's just so cute!

Does your special stitching case need a pretty ruler to tuck inside? These are the brass rulers featured inside some of Olde Colonial and Milady's Needle's stitchery cases... and they are now available open stock! Very heavy, bright and shiny, each is engraved with 6 inches of measure. Very, very nice looking, they'd make a classy addition to just about any needlecase, stitching box, or ruler case!
