from Puffin & Company
Puffin & Co introduces more puppies to their line of needlework tools. Beautiful hand-made metal-art of brass, nickel and copper, each metal decoration is actually fashioned by artisans in a small Thailand village, where the project proceeds contribute to the health, education and welfare of their community.

Kitties, hearts, bees, lambs... all of them are really very well done. They adorn thread separators, rulers, needle and scissor minders... se what you think!

Time Well Spent
from Sampler Cove

This is an elegant study of hand-dyed gold silk on black. Stitched entiIs certainly the truth if you stitch this piece!!!! Presented by Sampler Cove, this is FULL, FULL of specialty stitches -- the kind you find in all the 18th century English Band Samplers. Exquisite. brilliant colors of reds, blues, purples, golds and greens... the top 3/5 of the piece is solid Queens, Double Running, Double Back, Detached Buttonhole, etc. If you like Darlene O'Steen's things... this is for YOU!!! Then we get Cut and Drawn Work, then Whitework, then Hardanger.

Pages and pages and pages and pages (well, 27 of them!) of diagrams and charts... to stitch this 21 x 8 explosion of creativity! Charted for silks or DMC... it is stunning! Very involved, very crisp, very planned and balanced... it *WILL* represent your time well spent!
Please and Thank-You! from Trail Creek Farm -- click to see morePlease and Thank-You! from Trail Creek Farm
Trail Creek Farm has a neat new double-sided pillow kit that is just awesome! 'Please' on one side, 'Thank-You' on the other... the 6 x 8 brown and blue pillow is already made, and completely reversible. Stitched with a few flosses from your stash, and two small cuts of 14/28ct fabric you have... you get the charts, pillow with cream wire-ribbon hanger, orange and green trim ribbon (one for each side), and 8 coordinating fabric-covered buttons (4 for each side!)

Instructions are included for turning under your edges, and attaching the buttons, as well. A medley of denim blues, soft brown, apple green and bittersweet rusts, this is really cute!

Birdie Sampler from Trail Creek Farm -- click to see more Birdie Sampler from Trail Creek Farm -- click to see moreBirdie Sampler from Trail Creek Farm
A festive wall hanging by Trail Creek Farm, this banner is a medley of 8 different melon, light blue, and yellow fabrics -- a patchwork of 4 on each side -- so you choose your favorite! The 6 x 9 design is a Springtime tree full of colorful little birds all perched on it's branches. Stitch it on the lusciously bright and fresh Week Dye Works lemon-yellow hand-dyed 30ct linen, that Susan has hand-screened *again*, with some lighter circles, then button your stitching onto the 10 x 12 banner!

So soft, bright and cheerful... the banner is ready-made, and hangs via that striped ribbon handle. Birdie Sampler includes the banner, chart, hand-screened linen and 4 coordinating fabric-covered buttons to attach the stitching. (Susan's fabrics are all awesome... I understand she has a number of pretty swatches planned for these. Colors will remain the same, but some patches might have different textures!) Over-the-top Spring-y and cute!!!

Mermaid's Song Stitcher's Pocket Set from The Victoria Sampler - click for moreMarch 8
Mermaid's Song Stitcher's Pocket Set from The Victoria Sampler
Victoria Sampler has released an awesome set of stitching cases and a matching fob... all with a mermaid and ocean theme! Absolutely charming... the main Stitcher's Pocket measures approx 7 x 8, and is stitched on both sides. You'll notice the Hardanger flap on the front, and the tiny coastal village on the back. Bargello decorates the bottom, just like a scallop, and check out all the silk ribbon *kelp!* Garnished with lots of tiny shell charms, it's simply a stunning piece.

Next... there is a miniature needle *shell.* It's actually a scalloped square that folds open and closed... and features that same commanding Bargello stitch. Third, is the mermaid scissor case... she's on there, with more of that kelp! (at first I thought that was a eel!!!) Finally, the tiny lighthouse fob... just the cutest... it comes from that seaside village on the main bag. Pages and pages of charts, stitch diagrams, *wonderful* instructions as always, are included for ALL the assembly, as well. In fact, there are 3 solid pages of finishing steps that include 25 MORE photographs! I just love paging through the book!

Next, is the exquisite package of threads and embellishments, offered separately. Petite seeds beads in white and aqua, at least 5 or 6 charms in here (clam shell, mussel, sand dollar, star fish) metallics and silk perle, there is Gloriana hand-dyed silk ribbon for the kelp, and a TON of hand-dyed cottons, silks, perles -- I counted 25 different threads in here! Enough is included to stitch all the pieces. All is stitched on 28ct Amsterdam Blue Cashel Linen... you'll need an 11 x 38 Cut, and need to purchase that all at once, so everything matches. Just a lovely set of needlework pieces... what an heirloom! I envy everyone who lives near the water...hmmm.......!

Hands To Work Sampler from The Victoria Sampler - click for moreHands To Work Sampler
from The Victoria Sampler

A pretty kitchen garden... just like one Thea found in Olde Sturbridge Village, MA... stroll through the garden beginning at the bottom with the beds of carrots, radishes and cabbages. (there was a little frog in the radishes!) Next... the onions, squash, potatoes, strawberry patch, ... cauliflower, peas, parsnips, and lettuces are in there -- all between rows of specialty stitches. Orchard trees in the backyard, charming farm houses... there is so much color and detail in here, it is so much fun to look at!

Stitched on 28ct Confederate Gray Cashel Linen, the accessory pack, once again, is full of all sorts of hand-dyed silks and cottons! Measuring *a petite 4 x 7& (how charming is that!?) I love the fabric strips and wall hanging finishing idea for this! Simply a lovely piece -- for anyone who has a kitchen!!! Offered as the leaflet, with separate accs pack.

Jenny Bean's Humble Servant Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see moreJenny Bean's Humble Servant Sampler
from Shakespeare's Peddler
'You will surely reap what ye sow.' Jenny Bean stitches this charming sampler... it's her third! With a stitch count of 180 x 180, yours will finish approx 9 x 9 on 40ct... or it could be 11 x 11 if you choose 32! Pick what makes you happy! Worked in Gentle Art overdyed Sampler Threads, the colors are very pretty pinks, lavenders, greens, some brown, and a *touch* of a mustard color. A spot-motif-type of arrangement, all the sections feature pretty designs -- the flower urn in the upper left corner is pretty all by itself, the house is cool, and so is the willow tree!

Teresa tells you to embellish your sampler however you wish. There are some tiny stitched keys on here -- charms would be fun, and the flower urn up there might like a few buttons from your antique button stash! Just some ideas. Offered as the single chart, the Olde Colonial Dowry Boxes are on order! (expected $$$ approx $160-$170)

Jane Philpott 1837: An Adam & Eve Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see moreJane Philpott 1837: An Adam & Eve Sampler
from Shakespeare's Peddler
Teresa's been sampler shopping... and found a pair of almost identical samplers stitched by two sisters in 1837. She bought the pair, and has been re-charting! Jane's is presented this year... Sarah's maybe next year! Stitched in Ramsgate, England, Jane was most likely a persnickety and tidy girl. Teresa's bits of musing that are included with the chart talk about Jane's stitching, her colors, and her snake -- that was evidentally not cross-stitched at all, but embroidered.

Pretty flowers, beautifully shaped and detailed trees there is a lot going on in here... but it quite an endearing piece! Charted for either silks for DMC, it's quite large, and measures approx 19-1/2 x 27 on 28ct... to 14 x 19 on 40! Very well done... we have the model in the shop, and it's stunning!

Moonlight Madness by Debbie Mumm from Mill Hill
Mill Hill has a new set of 6 Halloween bead kits that are bright, bold, funky, fresh, and too darn cute!!! Designed by Debbie Mumm, they finish approx 4-1/4 x 6-1/4 and are stitched on 14ct aida. Three are on bright apple/lime green, the other three on black... all are stitched with DMC flosses and smatterings of beads (more cross stitching than bead work.)

I just LOVE 'em! All are contemporary, only Witch Hazel has skinny legs... everybody else is very *rotund* in this set... and every one is cuter than the last! Complete kits include the chart, needles, flosses, fabric and beads. Very JAZZY!

Raise the Roof has a new 4-part series named Libertyville... and 'Home From Sea' is the first part of the design!!! 'See our flag waving from high on the hill... another fine day in Libertyville.' The ship in the harbor, the charming downtown main street, the farm in the 'burbs', and finally the little sheep grazing on a grassy knoll of tiny Quaker motifs! Everything in here is really cute.

With an overall stitch count of 71 x 275, it finishes approx 4-1/2 x 17 on 32ct linen. The charts are offered with Belle Soie Silks from Crescent Colours in rich shades of navys and browns... so far... and the Just Another Button Company button embellishments! Too Darn Cute! Auto-Ship will deliver the remaining three designs to your mailbox as soon as each releases!

St Patrick's & Easter Bits
from Erica Michaels

Erica Michaels has outdone herself again... with 4 new 40ct silk gauze designs... here are just 2! Teeny-Weeny Easter and St Pats finish approx 1-1/2 x 2... and are stitched with only a HALF a Cross Stitch, with ONE strand of floss. Just like stitching 'over one' on linen... the gauze is actually thinner than linen, so the holes are twice the size. Doesn't seem to make sense, but trust me!

Darling little designs, each is offered as the chart with bitty gauze cut. They mount into Olde Colonial's miniature frames -- we have every single one -- so your tiny masterpieces WILL turn out like these! (3 Days before Market, we had Linda's Easter model in the shop. I LOST it... and it was re-stitched in 11 hours... in time to show at Market! Lesson learned... these are exquisitely tiny... but very stitchable!!!

Celebrating UFOs! License and Pin Set from Raise the Roof -- click to see moreCelebrating UFOs! License and Pin Set! from Raise the Roof
One of my favorite finds at Market came from Teresa and Sue at Raise The Roof. UFO is the affectionate name assigned to Un-Finished-Objects. You know... the stuff you started years ago, but just can't stand to look at anymore... you'll never finish them. This Licence and Pin Set can *set you FREE!* Somehow, Teresa's creative brain decided that it was OK to CUT UP some horrid thing you've started... and make a totally *dorky* pin cushion out of it... decorating it with this official UFO medallion and space-ship pin!!!!!

Oh my gosh... this is the funniest thing! Don't let this ugly model picture deter you! Your Official UFO License includes a coupon giving you permission to destroy what was, once, a piece of needleart! Her story that comes with it is delightful... and I cannot tell it here! YOUR pincushion could never look like hers... because each UFO has it's *own putrid personality!*... but think of the stitch group gift possibilities here!!! Everyone could make one, and it could be the gift exchange! You could raid the bottom of your friend's stitching tote, secretly steal her *embarrassment,* and turn it into the most charming UFO Cushion... presenting it to her with honor! Teresa's imagination at work!!!!! Anyway, Raise The Roof's UFO License comes with a bit of History, finishing suggestions, Teresa's *unfortunate* example -- pictured in living color, and the exclusive UFO label and space-ship pin. YOU supply the awful needlework!!! We have extra Space Ship pins available, in case you have more than one *Special Needs* piece!!!

Oh, this is a run Springtime piece to stitch! Sue and Teresa made a limited number of these darling kits to present at Market of few weeks ago... and I brought home the model!!!! It's a tiny kite-shaped fob, stitched on Lakeside Linen's 32ct Lime Zest hand-dyed linen. Use bits of 309, 340, 603, 701, 722 and 727 BRIGHT DMC flosses from your stash to stitch this, and attach the CUTE pink/green/orange fringe trim for the tail... this is the cutest little bit of bright Spring color!

The kite finishes approx 2 x 2-1/2 point to point... I just love it! Offered as the chart with linen and kite tail trim. You supply the easy DMC! And it's only $12!!!

Cushion finishes approx 3 x 3, fob just 1-1/2 x 2. Chessie's fob is two-sided... you see both her front and back! Kit includes the chart, Lakeside Linen, Belle Soie Silk and finishing instructions. Make sure to check out the matching magnet of this design!

Turtle and Elephant Needlebooks
from Olde Colonial
Olde Colonial Designs has 7 tiny designs in bitty kits... I don't think all of them are new... but I think I missed one of two of them before! Quite a charming collection, we have all of them on our Olde Colonial Pages.
But first, check out these fun little Turtle and Elephant Needlebooks! Bob (OC's Wood-Wiz!) has a new saw attachment TOY... so he's cut Pam a turtle-shaped thread palette for this kit! Bob's turtle measures approx 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches in size, and has 9 holes for threads. Pam has made a miniature sewing case for him... you can see him (the TURTLE!) peeking out of the case!

Bob and Pam have a matching Elephant Palette and Case as well... mine had to be shipped from Market, so they'll come later this week!
Ornament Stocking from SamSarah Design Studio - click for more
Snow Kids from SamSarah Design Studio - click for more Snow Kids and Ornament Stockings
from SamSarah Design Studio

Sam Sarah has two new Christmas Stocking designs that are gigantically cute and full of personality! Very simple in design element, there are 4 in the set so far. They feature giant images of snowmen, ornament balls, Christmas candy, and reindeer noses! Offered in leaflet format, they are designed to be stitched on the new Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed 20ct linens. The linen itself, is very soft. Colors are *to dye for*, however, these look great on 18ct Natural, too, if you prefer a stiffer fabric to work with.

Anyway, you'll notice that each stocking looks 'overdyed.' THAT is the result of Caron Collection's Watercolors hand-dyed perle cotton. You'll have to work your stocking designs on a contour to achieve that awesome movement from the color variations in your thread... but it's worth the effort!!! Garnish each stocking with the appropriate name -- in scrabble ABC buttons -- how cute is that? We offer the leaflets, and linen cuts. Clay embellishments include just the stars, flakes, bells, etc. Letter squares by special order. Check out the other two... we carry their linen and threads as well!

New Punch Needle Offerings from Threads That Bind
We have an awesome selection of 9 new Punch Needle designs by Shawn Williams... only 3 are pictured here, because I didn't have room for them all! Over-the-top luscious DMC flosses (NOT funky overdyeds that are hard to find!) are used to create her bold and classic designs! She includes a HUGE piece of pre-stamped weaver's cloth so you can fit these in a large hoop or frame easily, and stamping are clear and dark.

The Drumstick Dancers form the chorus line you're enjoying! Bless This House is a charming oval piece that measures 6-1/2 x 12! (The weaver's cloth cut in here is 18 x 20!!!) Prancing Pony is a smaller piece... deep reds, and that classic penny rug border treatment... he's only 3 x 5!

I think Threads That Bind is the best Punch Needle Artist in the industry... our shop models are ALWAYS showstoppers, and she commands that attention with good 'ol DMC!!!

Kris's Stitches -- From The Heart
Introducing #1 in a new set of leaflets -- 7 in all -- that celebrates the life of Kris Stott, a distributor of needlework items and mentor to many designers in our tiny and very personal stitching industry. Kris was a huge part of our community, and passed away very unexpectedly last March. Her daughter, Katy, has organized a set of 7 leaflets... each containing 9 designs, contributed by almost 70 designers to remember her.

Each design is the same size, each uses the same color palette of Weeks Dye Works flosses, and can be stitched individually or together. Contributing to From The Heart are Katy, AB Designs, Twisted Threads, Sam Sarah Studio, With My Needle, Needle's Content, Deb Kirscht, and JBW Designs.

You may not have known Kris... but you can easily see the love these people poured into their memories of her. Katy has grouped the designs by subject... wait till you see the Halloween pieces! Anyway, this is leaflet #1 of 7, each releasing every 8-ish weeks from now. Proceeds from the sale of Kris's Stitches Leaflets are going to several animal organizations for the care and adoption of homeless pets -- because Kris had a special love for anything with fur or feathers! Our preview of the first 3 leaflets at Market was a treat!

Milady's Quaker Pendants from Milady's Needle - click for more Milady's Quaker Pendants from Milady's Needle - click for more Milady's Quaker Pendants
from Milady's Needle

Milady's Needle has 8 new teeny-weeny Quaker-inspired designs that are stitched over one thread on 36ct, and mounted into the *most charming* tiny glass pendant cases!!! Offered as complete kits, you get enough 36ct Luna Linen by Lakeside AND enough Vicki Clayton hand-dyed silk to stitch ALL FOUR designs in each set.

The package comes with one set of pendant hardware, but we have extras available individually. Gloria showed us how the little cases open so you can switch out the needlework... but you might want extra pendant pieces anyhow, so that the closure doesn't get loose over time, and you aren't handling your stitching too much.

Anyway, lovely, shiny, clear and clean silver... some pendants you've seen in this style are a primitive tin... these are silver. The square one measures 1-1/2 inches, while the rectangular size is 3/4 x 2. Not too large to wear as a piece of jewelry! Complete kits contain the charts, linen, one pendant, silks and assembly instructions. VERY NICE!

A Schoolroom Primer from Milady's Needle - click for more A Schoolroom Primer
from Milady's Needle

This is SO CUTE! It's a 2-7/8 x 4-3/8 inch sampler stitched on 40ct vintage Buttercream Lakeside Linen, using Rainbow Gallery's Splendor Silk! Deep Navy, Burgandy, Browns and Butterscotch, the sampler is small and simple, quick to stitch. Once it's finished, simply mount to one side of the wooden hornbook paddle that is included in the complete kit.

Then, Gloria has included the lesson for the school day... the alphabet and numerals that you need to learn. She has included these on parchment paper, and printed them in four different fonts, so you can choose the one you like best. It mounts to the reverse side of the 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 hornbook. What a neat piece to have in your needlework display!!! Offered as the complete kit of chart, linen, silks, wooden hornbook, paper lesson, and finishing instructions.

Memory Keeper from The Workbasket - click to see more February 26
Memory Keeper from The Workbasket
Workbasket has a wonderful design... a large, square envelope to hold friendship notes -- inspired from the early 1800's Netherlands custom of creating a lovely box to hold notes and poems. They have combined it with the French custom of Postal Art... stitched envelopes that were actually mailed through the post, using real stamps! (I've seen stitchers do this NOW... they stitch things and then MAIL them LOOSE, to get that ink postmark ON the needlework!!!)

This 12 x 12 envelope keeper is awesome! Stitched on Week's 35ct Parchment Linen, with dusky, softly faded shades of Belle Soie hand-dyed silks, the design is coded for DMC floss as well. When you fold the corners in and finish this, you'll have a lovely 2--sided envelope. The front design includes the 'stamp' (the bunny in the upper right-hand corner.) The Address -- To a Friend's House. Notice the Quaker motifs on the left-hand edge... when we turn over the piece, they are the tops to a heart! On the backside, you'll find the envelope flap, decorated with a valentine and smattering of antique buttons from your stash!

Offered as the chart, this is SO unique! I absolutely fell in LOVE with it when I saw it. So beautiful to hold in your hands, so different, and actually very functional -- if you have special cards and notes you really want to hang on to. Stitched on a 31 x 31 square of linen... you'll have some generous corners left-over for smaller ornaments or sewing cases. Such a pretty presentation for needlework!

Carriage House's 5th set of scenes all around the village of Hawk Run Hollow is here! Celebrating Autumn, it covers the harvest season, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Joining Houses, Village, Shores and Christmas... Kathy says this is her last HRH set. We stood together in her booth at Market... all 5 of them were there on display, just stunning!

Just like all the rest, this piece features 12 squares of designs, that can be stitched individually or together. Every single panel is neat... it's kind of fun to look at the set of patterns and TRY top choose your favorites! Autumn is stitched in a different configuration than the rest, so linen has been ordered.

Charted for silks or DMC floss... overall finished size is approx 9 x 32 on 40ct, or 13 x 44 on 28ct! Offered as the chart, all other HRH charts are still available!
Lighthouse Island from Rosewood Manor - click for moreLighthouse Island from Rosewood Manor

Stitched on 32ct light blue linen... each building that goes around the whole piece is unique, and full of lots of tiny details. Lighthouses, shops, cottages, hotels, a market, City Hall, the boathouse, schools and churches... just charming! They are on the top side.

The bottom is a brilliant medley of rolling waves, so full of color and motion. Simply stitch both sides, and hand-attach together to make your 8-ish inch cushion! I've not seen anything like this, so it has been endearing. Karen shows some wrapped fish thread winders tossed into the center cavity, just for decoration. Offered as a leaflet with huge charts and great assembly instructions! Just an awesome sit-about!

Small 2-inch pieces that were used to wrap and store threads centuries ago are back with a touch of splendor! Actual vintage pieces of stamped brass, the detail of these is incredible. The roses look like real roses, the lines and dot decorations on the ribbons are all clear and smooth, the filigree detail on the butterfly is swirly and even... just lovely!

In the olden days, thread winders were just a necessity... a way to store threads, even used as advertising by thread companies. (Similiar to an imprinted ball point pen you'd get as advertising today!) Every sewing case needs a few of these classy pieces holding bits of precious thread... what's in YOUR sewing case?

Honeysuckle Manor
from Blackbird Designs

Blackbird has a new 40-page book of exquisite sampler projects, all inspired by an antique sampler stitched by Louisa Bell sometime in the 1700's. Recharting the original sampler Barb and Alma found on E-Bay, they each have designed lots of smaller projects -- cushions, boxes, a covered tape measure, even little pin and needle cupcakes!

Everything is done in the same color palette of the original sampler -- soft overdyeds of roses, attic teas, mosses, steel grays and cremes, both Belle Soie silks and weeks, Gentle Art and Crescent cottons are used. Pages and pages of lovely pictures, charming projects, and Blackbird charm!!!

Little House Needleworks has a new sampler, and 'Sewing Accessory' created by Impie, Hattie & Bea! A 6-1/2 x 4 x 2 antique blue Scissor Bed/Pin Pillow. It looks like a pretty little bed, to accent Diane's newest design! 'Needle and thread, needle and thread... when starlight fades, I lay them to bed.'

The design features a tiny Sleeping Beauty Stitcher... her needles, scissors and threads beside her bed! There is even a wise owl perched on the moon, outside her bedroom window! Absolutely charming!!! The Little House design, which is really the mattress coverlet, finishes approx 4 x 5 on 32ct Natural Belfast. (The matching miniature fob is stitched on 18ct Natural Linen.) You attach the coverlet to the top of the 'bed' and tuck your scissors underneath... just where Ms Sleeping Beauty Stitcher would go!!!

Offered as the chart along with 5 complete skeins of Crescent Colours hand-dyed flosses -- you need only a smidge of DMC 754 from your stash. Needle & Thread will be offered as the chart with threads on an on-going basis. The blue Scissor Bed/Pin Pillow finishing piece is a limited edition release, and will not be available again, as they sell out. What a delightful little set!

Blue Snowman
from Shepherd's Bush
Here's another colorful-linen snowman piece! Companioned with Red, Green and Purple Snowmen... this little guy promises that the cold winter winds full of snow DO blow! Stitched on the new Weeks Dye Works 30ct Blue Jeans hand-dyed linen... the silks included in the complete kit are yummy winter whites, cranberries, avocado and denims, and embellishments include some matte-finish mini-buttons.

Now, actually, this is probably a GIRL snowman... because of the wreath of ivy and berries crowning her head! Finishes approx 5 x 6.

My Land from Shepherd's Bush - click to see moreMy Land
from Shepherd's Bush
Presenting Tina's new patriotic sampler for the 2010 season, My Land features a shepherd couple tending the sheep and American flag. The border is a lovely, free-flowing floral vine that hides the verse of the piece -- the words to the song My Country 'tis of Thee! You have to look very closely to see those phrases... and it makes all of this so charming!

Offered as a complete kit, this is stitched on Weeks 30ct Parchment Linen in several shades of solid and hand-dyed silks -- lots of green, along with roses, dusky, and navy blues.

Finished size is approx 6 x 13-1/2. In looking at this... I like the bottom half without the top... and the top without the bottom... which, I guess, means that I like the whole thing, too!

Visit our Shepherd's Bush page for lots more new designs!

Jeannette Douglas has LOTS of new releases... we're featuring a few of them on Just Arrived... but MAKE SURE to visit her page to see all the rest!
Spring and Autumn Biscornu Stackers from Jeannette Douglas
This is a NEAT set of Biscornu Trios... stitch each one, and then tie them together with a flourish... to present a charming tower of tuffets! Offered in 5 x 9 mini-leaflet format, each includes a bit of hand-dyed Gloriana silk and some teeny button embellishments, the ribbon tying all together is not included.

Autumn Stackers features great specialty stitches, some teeny acorn and squirrel motifs, tiny teal, butterscotch or rose mini-button embellishments, and along with DMC flosses from your stash, you'll love the 'Fallen Leaves' Gloriana hand-dyed silk! Find some fancy ribbon or wild yard to tie all together, remember, that is not included. (but what fun to shop for!!!)

Spring Stackers features birds and rabbits, more cool stitch options, it's buttons are dusty denims, rose and moss, and the Gloriana Silk included is a soft green medley named 'Winter Brook.' Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Linen, each cushion is stitched on both sides, and finishes approx 2 x 2. Petite & Precious, I just love 'em! (6 Cuts of 9 x 9 linen for each booklet offers 3-inches around each piece... that's a fat quarter of fabric. So ONE fat quarter per leaflet. If you are *clever and careful*... you can arrange your pieces differently to economize fabric... only an inch or two between each piece, and can get BOTH leaflets out of one fat quarter.

Mini Acorn, Pom & Pear and Silver Needle Stitches! from Jeannette Douglas
Jeannette has taken three of her larger *Stitches* series samplers, and designed smaller coordinating band samplers to go with them!!! Offered in 5 x 9 card format, each 2 x 5-ish sampler is stitched on a 32ct linen with DMC flosses from your stash. The charts all come *WITH* the matching hand-dyed Gloriana silk that ties everything together, and adds so much flavor!!!

Loaded FULL of neat, specialty stitches, each is of these is so charming. Acorns is full of autumnal color, has a cool 'knitting stitch' in the acorns, and a tiny brass acorn charm. Pom & Pear includes a gorgeous Red Clay cut of Gloriana, and a tiny brass pear, all to accent it's Bargello and Rhodes, Satins and Hungarians!

My personal favorite is Silver Needle Stitches, because this is the miniature of OUR SILVER NEEDLE STITCHES Sampler that Jeannette designed for OUR Summer weekend a few years ago! Lots of Ray and Herringbone, Autumn Arbor Gloriana Silk, and a teeny brass stork scissor charm... you need all three of these!

The Daisy Thread Rings are charming! Little bitty things, they're less than an inch in size, and are so pretty tucked inside sewing cases. 7 Included in their package. Next, is a Strawberry shaped Thread Keep. Similar in size to Kelmscott's Acorn Keep, these look neat simply trimmed with threads and laying on a shelf beside something you're working on!

Colonial Roses Biscornu and Scissor Fob
Colonial Roses Scissor Fob from The Sweetheart Tree - click to see more Colonial Roses Biscornu from The Sweetheart Tree - click to see more from The Sweetheart Tree
The Sweetheart Tree has tons of new releases (well... 8...) and I just love these two! Stitched on 32ct Rue Green Belfast linen in DMC flosses, the Biscornu cushion is offered in a complete kit, while the little fob comes just as the card chart with embellishments. The soft green linen really sets off the mauve and cream flosses, and of course, the special stitches add all the texture and excitement!

Both the Biscornu and Fob are stitched with different designs on their fronts and backs, so you kind of hate to lay them down... because you miss the entire bottom side! Dramatic and lacy... a very pretty pair of designs! Sweetheart Tree has lots of other Biscornu and fob designs that match... we have them all on Sandy's page.

Judy Whitman has finished her 12-piece set of Twas the Night Before Christmas designs... all at one time! (Card #1 was released last Fall... we now have cards #2, 3 and 4!!!) Following the verses of the famous poem about Santa's midnight visit, each tiny 2-1/2 inch square ornament features a bit of the verse, and a coordinating picture to tell the story.

A REAL cute set of small ornaments... each is garnished with a tiny embellishment (brass, clay, bell, pon-pom, etc) that is included with the card. Each card features 3 ornament designs. (JBW offers the free border design, in case you want to stitch this set of 12 as one larger sampling... details about that are on each card.)

A New Designer for Us... The Tralala Collection
This is a small collection of whimsical designs that comes to us from France. Something about them is endearing... all the skinny legs, all the big berries and flowers... the scalloped borders... I just love 'em! Offered in chart format, the instructions are written in French, with those recognizable DMC floss color numbers!

I believe most of them call for overdyed floss dyed by Tra La La. I purchased Joyeux Noel with the hand-dyed threads... but not the rest, as it really sky-rocketed the prices. (I'm looking at the overdyed floss... it is a cotton... looks just like Gentle Art, Weeks or Crescent... and as all the designs are cute, and I'm sure you can find fun fabrics and threads already in your stash for these! I just *had to have them!*

New Releases from Prairie Schooler
February, June, Tortoise & The Hare and Signs of Spring are all new leaflets by Prairie Schooler! February and June are the 5th and 6th in their on-going set of month-samplers -- each features that box in the upper corner, that is interchangeable with all the blocks in the companion piece -- and fits with all the REST of the month series!

Check those out -- they are really cool. I think my favorite of this set of 4 leaflets is the Tortoise & The Hare! I love those rabbits and turtles everywhere!!! Signs of Spring is a set of animals, all framed Blackwork borders! As always, a great release of designs. We are offering an auto-ship (ie... auto-collect!) on those monthly titles... otherwise it's too easy to miss one in the set!

The Dorset Table Top Magnifier Lamp
by Craftlite
This is a WONDERFUL little lamp!!! Our second shipment has arrived and we are once again excited about this remarkable lamp!

It has a weighted base, and plugs in to regular wall outlet. You can see on the arm bends halfway up for adjustment. Then, where the lens meets the arm... THAT is a heavy-duty ball joint, so the lens swivels and turns *just how you want!* See the little flip-up lens cover? It stores safely in a sunny room, stays clean, and can't get scratched (by kitties or the cleaning lady) because the lens is covered when not in use. 4-Inch lens, 3-diopter magnification, with little 5X mag area.

BEST PART is the natural daylight balanced 12 watt circular tube bulb surrounding that lens. Your work area is so beautifully lit... you are going to be SO HAPPY! Also, really cool, is that the bulb is recessed around that lens on the bottom side, (and covered so little fingers can't fiddle!) so if you are in a darkish room, and the TV is on... nobody else in the room is bothered by the glare of your lightbulb on the TV screen... they can't see it! A sleek, petite thing, it comes right out of the box ready to plug in -- no assembly! Base measures approx 6-1/2 inches in diameter, arm reach is about 12 inches, I'm estimating weight at approx 3 1/2 pounds, available in white... (The lamp I took home to write words about did not go back to the The Silver Needle!!! It's really cool!)
