Silver Needle Kelmscott Stitching Gadgets, Counted Cross Stitch Needlework Patterns, Leaflets, Materials and supplies from The Silver Needle, Tulsa

Kelmscott has two new gadgets. First, a new Needle Minder of a (golden) blackbird against a matte black background -- which joins their growing collection of minders. (Scroll down this page to see lots more!)

Second, an unusual 2-3/4 inch pair of square-handled scissors, designed to remind you of lace. They totally remind me of those little butter cookies you buy in the grocery store! Fun things to add to special stitching cases and displays!

Another fun little project that features a piece of painted wood... This time, a tiny black shoe sole that measures 4-1/4 inches in length. The chart includes 3 different designs to choose from (initials include the entire alphabet) to stitch the front of the slipper. Next, finishing instructions are included, along with a bit of trim to line the edges between the linen and shoe, so that when you are finished, you have a tiny home for a special pair of scissors!

Just fun, package includes the charts, shoe sole and braid trim. Extra soles are not available individually, as the value of the package is the sole and braid.

This is a neat set of small pieces that all tuck neatly inside a very tailored and non-fussy (6 x 6 when closed) sewing case! From Acorn House, this is offered in either chart format or complete kit. Stitched on 1/4 yard of 40ct hand dyed Lentil Linen in Gloriana Silks, it features matching hand dyed silk ribbons to tie scissors and the mattresses in place, and some wool to make the daisy garnish. The large flowers are Cross Stitch, but you can see the smaller ones are simply long Eyelet stitches over 10 squares... and they look like little wispy pin wheels... GREAT texture.

In both the chart and kit, complete finishing instructions are provided, as well as the chart layout on the main cut of linen. Wendy KC Designs has a pretty new sampler, and it is FULL of pretty Summertime Garden color! Stitched on Weeks 35ct Seafoam hand dyed linen, the pink and opalescent metallics, hand dyed Gloriana, Belle Soie, Neelepoint Inc Silks, and Silk 'n colors in this cover a rainbow of fresh greens, pinks and berry and lavenders... all the colors in a garden of blooms! The chart is stunning!!!!! (wait, I found a tiny cat and some mice that are crosses!) Introducing a new set of 7 Folk Art wooden thread palettes -- each a fun shape with differently shaped little holes -- and some pretty stitching in the center! The first design -- Angel Song -- released November 16th. Designed by Island Cottage Needlearts (a new designer for us!) Angel Song is stitched over one thread of 30ct Weeks Dye Works Garnet linen. She is mounted on a demin-blue (matches Weeks Freedom Blue thread) hand-finished wooden thread palette measuring approx 6-1/2 x 3-3/4 inches.

Carolina House Designs has a pretty set of 'toys' for stitchers! All stitched on an 18 x 18 piece of 32ct Lambswool Linen, you'll make an exquisite 4-1/2 x 6 sewing bag, a tiny 1-3/4 x 2-1/4 strawberry Blackwork pin keep, a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 needlebook which features the same stitching detail as the main bag, and a darling little 3/4 inch stuffed strawberry emery! Stitched in rich silks of deep red, green, cream, butterscotch and denim, the stitches in this are just lovely!

Another awesome study in fussy and detailed needlework finishing technique that delivers you the most charming little shoe when you are finished!!! This tiny slipper is stitched with hand-dyed blue silk on 32ct white linen, and embellished with white seed beads. In these instructions, you actually photo-copy your stitching, and cut out your finishing templates from those copies!!! The slipper features one of Kelmscott's new Mother of Pearl heart-shaped buckles on its front, and the matching fob is tied onto its scissors via a tiny thread ring! Offered as the chart, we have a kit option available as well that contains the chart, linen, silk, beads and silk ribbons.

This is quite a unique little 3-1/2 inch round cushion that doubles as a tiny box to hold all its matching smalls! Stitched on hand-dyed Lakeside Linens 40ct Tarnished Silver, the Gloriana silks included with the kitted option are rich grapes and mossy greens. There is quite a bit of trellis-work in blending filament... I don't know if you can see the detail inside the pleats... but there it is!

Not *tons* of stitching in this set of cushion/box, needlebook, scissor keeper, mini-fob and pin keep... I see this as more of a 'finishing challenge!' (I am a non-sewer... so some of this stuff is way over my head... but I think if you like to measure, baste, clip, cut and whip carefully... you'll be in Finishing Heaven!) This is a cute little measurer to personalize and tuck into your stitching bag! The wooden hornbook (miniature paddle) is painted black and has special measurements! It is 3 inches in overall length, it is 2 inches square, and its little handle is an inch long. INSTANT RULER!

There is a complete alphabet of lovely floral initials, so you can choose whichever fabric you like, and one or two of your favorite colors, to monogram the little paddle! Includes the ABC charts, painted hornbook, and black braid trim to help finish the edges of your needlework. You supply the fabric and thread bits.

This is a lovely piece that is actually a Spot Motif style sampler, with much more of a floral touch than usual. The flowing alphabet fonts at the top... what makes this so charming are all the scattered bands of florals... there are like 18-ish in here!!! You don't quite notice them as repeating border designs, but they are!

Offered as a chart, stitched in either DMCs or silks, this measures approx 22 x 11 on 32ct. Very, very pretty, and quite unique.

Mother Of Pearl Heart Buckle
Oh, this is a cool thing... it is a one-inch heart, divided in the center, to form a buckle attachment. Paula has drilled the center section as well, so if you are wanting to anchor it a bit, you can. This is an imaginative piece for finishing, it'll present a different option for needlework case closures, pin cushion decorations, chatelaine embellishment, lots of fun things! Get creative with this tiny piece! Offered 3 to a package.

The Daisy Thread Rings are charming! Little bitty things, they're less than an inch in size, and are so pretty tucked inside sewing cases. 7 Included in their package.

Next, is a Strawberry shaped Thread Keep. Similar in size to Kelmscott's Acorn Keep, these look neat simply trimmed with threads and laying on a shelf beside something you're working on!

Chocolate Brown Little Gems -- same size and quality as those in the collection currently. Check out these spider-web-inspired scissors! Nice and angular, matte black finish, these'll be fun tied onto Halloween fobs and tucked into scary Halloween sewing cases!

Here is a neat *giant* star-shaped tuffet, with 4 smaller ornament offerings. Offered as a chart, the main piece is full of special stitches, and features special BUT EASY finishing techniques!!!

It's a lovely evergreen and snowflake piece, those 8 points attach together with slip stitches. But the 'tufting' definition is simply super-duper long stitches of metallic thread that come up in the center, wrap AROUND the cushion and come up again in the center! Looks so much scarier than it really is!!! The other 4 ornaments in the picture are also offered in this chart by Wendy KC Designs!

Kelmscott has two new scissor styles that are CHARMING! The angel is quite heavy, and features very small finger holes. (Reminds me of the shape of her owl scissors.) Designed as a complementary piece for fun sewing and needlework cases... I actually think these would be stunning hanging on your Christmas tree as an ornament! Possibly attach them to some red wool or felt? Very shiny and pretty!!!

The miniature Tudor Rose style is gold, and only 2-1/2 inches in size -- smaller than Kelmscott's regular silver-toned style. 1/2 Inch blades, these are just the prettiest little things... ones you probably HAVE to HAVE!!! (And *who says* a stitcher shouldn't decorate their tree with a few scissors and needlework threats!?)

This -- I LOVE! An exquisite little bag full of Queen and Satin Stitches... check out that peculiar little biscornu pillow!!! Isn't that just the neatest shape??? Pretty colors of Needlepoint Inc silks on 32ct Flax linen, there are metallic touches, too.

Paula tells us that in Britain, candies are called 'Sweeties'... and since all the special pieces that go along with the main piece reminded her of 'Eye Candy'... she thought Strawberry Sweeties was the perfect name for the set! Offered as the chart or kit!

A lovely scattering of roses decorate the outside of this sewing case... but I cannot tell you if they are cross-stitched, Bullion Knots or what! I cannot offer sizes, either!

Just a heads-up that we ARE ordering this pattern for late September release! I think it looks so delicate and feminine!

In keeping with her Spring Fever, Paula has also designed a pair of gold-toned scissors that have a flower pot and bloom on the handles! Quite a different shape to the scissor -- the handle part features 2 inches of length, while the blades are only 1/2 an inch long. Definitely more of a decorative rather than everyday functional scissor. 3-3/4 inch overall length.

This is a set of BEAUTIFUL little sewing cases, cushions, boxes and fobs! By Wendy KC Designs, the entire set is offered in a pair of chart packs -- so you'll probably want both. The first, features a 4 x 4 box top (with a lovely beaded bumble bee in the center, but I can't find anything in the pattern about it!)
