 ROYALTY in Cross Stitch! from Jim Shore & Mill Hill Mill Hill and Jim Shore have brought us a really cool set of 4 playing cards -- stitched on 16ct Aida, and garnished with glass beads! Offered as complete kits, each card finishes approx 5 x 7 and is FULL of clear, bright playing card color. Stitch the King of Diamonds for (Dad?), the poker player of the house, the Queen of Hearts for (Mom?), the bridge player... the Jack of Clubs for (the card shark away at college?) and the Ace of Spades for (Grandma who still plays cards three times a week!!!) 2010 Winter Button & Bead Kits This season's newest Mill Hill Designs are on their way, and your stitching bag is going to need to make room for them! They're all expected to arrive at the end of this week. Some fun and different designs this season... The Clock Repair Shoppe joins the Village series, Let it Snow is a frosty snowflake scene looking out of a frosty window. Frosty seems to go with Let it Snow -- we just love that frosty snowman. The Through The Woods sleigh scene looks so 'retro' and heartwarming, and joins that Village series as well, and the Gingerbread House looks good enough to eat! Autumn 2010 Button & Bead Kits What an awesome set of 6 new designs! 5 x 5 designs full of beaded color and detail, Mill Hill's selection this season are delightful! Gather Together is a charming country house scene... those Fall Blooms are like NOTHING we've had so far! Paisley Pumpkin is so darn cute... I'm tempted to stitch it without the border, too.  Moonlight Madness by Debbie Mumm Mill Hill has a new set of 6 Halloween bead kits that are bright, bold, funky, fresh, and too darn cute!!! Designed by Debbie Mumm, they finish approx 4-1/4 x 6-1/4 and are stitched on 14ct aida. Three are on bright apple/lime green, the other three on black... all are stitched with DMC flosses and smatterings of beads (more cross stitching than bead work.) I just LOVE 'em! All are contemporary, only Witch Hazel has skinny legs... everybody else is very *rotund* in this set... and every one is cuter than the last!  Olde Worlde Santas by Jim Shore Mill Hill has released a set of 4 Olde Worlde Santas designed by artist Jim Shore. All have a 'quilt flavor' to them, all share a matching background, color scheme, and general shape, but each features a different Santa. Crisp bright reds and yellows, all are worked on an icy blue colored 14ct perforated paper in DMC flosses and glistening glass beads. Of course, you can always stitch them on linen instead... either way, they finish a generous 5 x 5. Fall Leaves and Pheasant Sampler are both medleys of rich Fall Color... I can just feel the crisp, cool air! Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar - two of my 'favorite foods!!!' - they are stunning against an Italian country-side background! What classy kitchen pieces!  Geographic Snowmen by Jim Shore Ok... these are here... but the set of 4 of them has NO NAME!! They are a set of 4 cross-stitch and beaded snowmen -- on 14ct perforated paper -- the one at the top left is Northern, next is Southern, next are are Eastern and Western! (And I don't 'get it!'... they're all frozen... and I can't tell WHAT area of the country ANY of them come from!!!) They ARE darling... I love the circular borders... and the colors are cheerful!  Wild Life by Debbie Mumm Mill Hill has a fun new set of 6 bead kits that are out-of-this-world bright, colorful and sweet!!! Six darling animals, each accented with a tiny verse that is placed on the piece so it is optional (put a name there), the colors on these are just so young, bright and fresh! Complete kits of chart, fabric, beads and a star button, these all come with the new tropical colors of 14ct AIDA! We usually stitch our Button & Bead kits on linen, but we're sticking with this unusual Aida instead! (I *guess* the 30ct Weeks hand-dyed linen might work... but it's quite soft and actually 15ct... and these beads really like 14/28 count better.) The ladybug and elephant are on Tropical Orange, with an orange star button. (Button garnishes the frame, but if you 'pillow' these, put it on there anywhere!) The turtle and frog are on Tropical Blue -- a pretty aqua, and the butterfly and lion are on Tropical Green -- a lip-puckering apple green! Really cute, more cross stitching, not as much beading! Actually, these would make GREAT introduction kits to young stitchers... colors, beads, ease of fabric... everything is perfect for that! Attention Bead-a-Holics! Mill Hill has released 33 new colors of beads! We haven't been treated to new colors of beads for at least 10 years... so this is quite the treat!!!!! I think all are $1.30 a pack... 7 new colors of the regular seed beads. 13 New colors of Antique Seed beads -- these are AWESOME, as they are matte metallic in finish. Just lovely, they all have 'Satin' in their name!!! Next, we have 5 new colors of the Petite beads, 8 new Pebble Bead colors, and one lonely size 8 color -- just a little larger than the regular size. We can't do drop downs for all 33... just thought you needed to know of their new release on the market!!! Very fun, I'd get all the Satins if I were you... as they are exquisite.  The Spring 2009 Button & Bead Collection What an awesome collection of high-impact designs this Spring!!! Flowers and Vegetables... choose your theme and stitch all three (or six!) I personally love, love, love the vegetables, they are stitched on a very light green paper (or 28ct linen), and accented with all that shaded and stippled background. The flowers are all stitched on black paper -- very dramatic. (If black isn't kind to your eyes, think about a background color of fabric, and STITCH that thin black border around each design instead. Lots of ways around the 'black issue!') | Buttons & Beads for Fall 2006 from Mill Hill The Mill Hill 2006 collection for Fall is here!!! An excellent set this year... Boo House is stitched on black perforated paper, Trick or Treat Collage is on deep green, and the rest are on the favorite brown. We always do our shop models on linen... so we'll choose the corresponding 28ct colors to the paper. Loaded with great oranges, purples, blacks and golds... the set includes a great haunted house -- complete with flying ghosts, and a colorful cornucopia. Quite a bit of the stitching for these is done in floss -- but the other is all beading. Such a pretty effect, especially if you have a place for them that lets them catch the light. Those beads just glisten! Several of the frames shown in the model pics are decorated with the smaller bead kits that are also new this year. Make sure to click the pics to see everything. | New Spring 2006 Button & Bead Kits The 2006 set of Spring Mill Hill kits has arrived! Stitched on several
different colors of perforated papers, the designs this year are
great! Summer Sampler has great color along with cute seasonal motifs that you could even split out of the design and stitch individually. The white borders look like a Victorian House's wooden porch and railing!
Wisteria Welcome and Window Friends are a pair that are stitched on a taupe paper -- so their colors are more soft and muted. A different color scheme than MH's Spring Kits have had before, and are luscious! All really cute this year... of course we'll choose linens to stitch our shop models, but any 14 or 28ct fabric will work, because they are the same finished size as the perforated paper already in the kits. Finishing approx 5 x 5, each kit is complete with chart, flosses, needles, perforated paper, and a hand-painted Mill Hill button. Three of the designs show a smaller stitched piece embellishing the bottom right corner of the frame. Those are the smaller MH Spring Bouquet designs. Annually, for the past 10 years, we've been treated to a new set of six Fall and Halloween designs... some more involved than others... some cuter than others... but this batch opts both on the faster and cuter side!!!!!
