Olde Colonial Counted Cross Stitch, Needlework Patterns, Leaflets, Materials and supplies from The Silver Needle, Tulsa

Olde Colonial Designs has 7 tiny designs in bitty kits... I don't think all of them are new... but I think I missed one of two of them before! Quite a charming collection, we have all of them on our Olde Colonial Pages.
But first, check out these fun little Turtle and Elephant Needlebooks! Bob (OC's Wood-Wiz!) has a new saw attachment TOY... so he's cut Pam a turtle-shaped thread palette for this kit! Bob's turtle measures approx 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 inches in size, and has 9 holes for threads. Pam has made a miniature sewing case for him... you can see him (the TURTLE!) peeking out of the case!

Stitched on 32ct Light Mocha linen in greens, mauve, lavender and butterscotch flosses, the case features a needle page of green wool. A few special stitches in this, the whole thing finishes just a bit smaller than that darling wooden turtle! Complete kit contains the turtle palette, linen, flosses, bird charm, all the necessary instructions, interfacing, wool, ribbon, needle, floral lining fabric... you name it!

Bob and Pam have a matching Elephant Palette and Case as well.

Deep pine greens of DMC and Cranberry Sampler Thread, this tiny ornament doubles as a functional needlecase on your Christmas Tree! Talk about convenient... if you can't find a needle during Christmas... you have one stored safely ON YOUR TREE!

Stitched on 32ct Light Mocha, the tree is worked in Queen Stitches, and there's a bit of one-over-one, but since this is so small... none of that is an issue! The whole thing finishes a petite 2-1/2 x 4, and is presented as the complete kit of chart, linen, linings and facings, and threads. Cute!

We had this little guy a few years ago... he's tiny, simple and real cute! Offered in a full kit of 32ct natural linen, flosses, needle, chart, and cut of black felt (the pic shows orange... we have the Week's wools in Schnigglet cuts for $3.50 each - lots of colorful options with that) this finishes approx 1 x 2. Just fun!

Another super-dinky design that finishes into a 1 x 2 mini-cushion... these fee SO GOOD when you stuff them with emery, rather than poly-fil. Gives 'em weight, and they fill you hand nicely.

32ct White linen, mauve and green DMCs, this one features a pink glass heart embellishment and some green wool for the scalloped-edge back piece.

A third bitty thing... pin cushion, fob or ornament... this one comes with 32ct Summer Khaki linen, some deep mossy green wool, Christmassy colors of DMC floss, and the tiny chart.

There's even a brass star embellishment in here!

This design is stitched on 32ct -- a real dusty lavender color -- it makes the larger sheath for scissors. The tiny kit comes with a leather sheath to protect your scissors inside the stitched case, too!

Very soft shades of lavender and moss, this stitching won't take any time at all!

Pam Reed of Olde Colonial Designs has a small antique box made of *paper* with a stitched top in her *private collection* of needlework goodies! Something she has treasured throughout the years, she has charted the design from the top of her mending box, and mounted it to one of Olde Colonial's birdseye maple boxes, to make a replica of her small box! The stitched top is worked on 32ct Light Mocha Belfast Linen with Weeks and DMC flosses, a few special stitches and a bit of one-over-one, make up the 5 x 6 stitched area.

The complete kit to make this neat box includes the 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 1-1/2 wood box, all fabrics, felts, threads, lining fabrics and interfacings, boards, gold closure bead, and finishing instructions to re-create her original. Absolutely charming... notice that the lid actually covers the back side of the box, and wraps around to the top!

Another miniature Nantucket Basket kit by Olde Colonial... I just LOVE these! The Mini Sewing Basket kit features a 3 x 4-1/2 x 2 miniature Nantucket basket with wood bottom. The 32ct Light Mocha Belfast linen and bits of DMC flosses, along with a tiny scissor charm are all you need to stitch and tuck into the bottom of your tiny sewing basket!

Very quick to stitch and finish, the complete kit includes the basket, threads, charm and flosses, chart and template for finishing. So precious!

Just a bitty thing... your 1-INCH sampler is stitched over one and two threads of 32ct Light Mocha Belfast linen, with Weeks and DMC flosses. Special stitches in it and everything!!!

Then, tuck it into the exquisite miniature birds-eye maple frame which has an *outside measurement* of only 2-5/8 inches, and an easel back! Charming... the kit comes complete with chart, linen, flosses and frame!

Another petite kit by Olde Colonial, everything is so dinky in here!!! The miniature sampler gracing the front of this darling needlebook is stitched in Weeks and DMC floss on 30ct hand-dyed Weeks 30ct linen. Underneath is a felt needlepage, and all is 'clipped together' on a tiny 2 x 3 wooden clipboard!

This would make a STUNNING ornament, and it would be darling clipped onto a sewing basket or added to the frig door as a magnet! Just kind-of-too-darn-CUTE! Kit comes with chart, felts and linen, flosses, needle and little clip board. You'll need a bit of shoe polish to finish and distress your board.

Oh, a bitty 24 x 33 stitch count, this finishes 1 x 2! 32ct Creme Belfast, rose and green DMC flosses, and a bit of felt backing... you'll finish this little gem in a jiff!

Stitch it for a friend -- leave off Spring and add her name -- or make an ornament! The complete kit contains the chart, linen, needle, flosses and felt.

This is a Nantucket Basket that is woven around a white ceramic 'pencil-cup' type of form. Overall the basket measures approx 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 and is very heavy because the ceramic cup is inside. The fabric topper is elastic-banded with a ribbon drawstring, and the entire piece which comes pre-sewn, is removable. My first inclination is a pencil cup... but since the inside is permanent, you'd want to line it to keep ink off the ceramic. BUT...BUT... here comes the needlework!

Nantucket Opera Bag Accessories
Offered as a complete kit, here are tiny stitched pieces to grace your Opera Bag! Now... instead of a pencil cup, it is a tiny stitching basket! The accessory set includes a scissor sheath for embroidery scissors and two little pin cushion fobs to hang at the ends of the bag's topper ties. The complete kit includes the 32ct Belfast, DMC and overdyed flosses, finishing instructions, charts, needle, felt and linings for the sheath and fobs. You don't 'need' the Opera Bag to stitch the accessories, but everything matches, and it's such a charming idea! So... actually, I guess, you DO need both!!!

This is a neat little set of pieces... technically a stitched 'tool box!' The main pocket is a fully lined, stiff pouch that measures approx 3 x 4 -- your stitching done with DMC and overdyeds graces both sides. Next, inside, it stores a tiny 2-inch stitch-starter measuring board, and then a tiny 1-inch counting pin, to mark that starting place. (Place the Measuring Board in the corner of your fabric, measuring two inches in and two inches down -- in a jiff -- and then use the marking pin to mark the spot!)

The complete kit contains the linens, linings, flosses, pre-cut boards, and elegant gold pin for the counter. There are a few special stitches in the designs, and the colors are soft greens and roses... just a really pretty set of tiny pieces... this one will be fun to do!

If this isn't the cutest little thing...! Pam from Olde Colonial has designed actually a very simple ABC with a tiny basket beneath it... complete with a lace heart blooming as the flower. Packaged in a teeny-weeny frosted plastic purse-box, the complete kit contains the 36ct Natural Linen, the lavender, brown and black flosses, ladybug charm and tiny lace heart piece.
Finishing only 1-1/2 x 2... it's tucked into one of Olde Colonial's tiny oval frames, complete with easel back. All very small and sweet, cute, quick and classy!

A sweet and petite purse/pin cushion piece, this features a tiny bunny running through his garden of periwinkle flowers! Finished into a unique shape that resembles a tiny purse, it is stitched on 32ct Light Mocha linen in overdyeds of brown, greens, golds and lavender-blues, and sports a tiny pocket on the back of the cushion for the provided needle threader.

The complete kit contains the linen, flosses, pre-made cording for the cushion handle, an antique bead (one-of-a-kind in each kit) as the drawstring closure, and that threader. One-over-one stitching in parts, great pics for finishing and stitch placement... the entire purse/cushion finishes approx 2-1/2 x 3!

The latest companion piece to join The Needlework Garden Set, this is a useful little piece! (Joining the main Stitching Basket with Needlebook, the entire set includes a matching Fob and Scissorcase kit, Tiny Wooden Thread Palette, and Snip Basket! Everything is stitched on the same linen -- 32ct Light Mocha, in the same color palette of greens, taupe and mauves.) Your tiny ruler case has the same Needlework Garden bunny and floral motifs, and all the same specialty stitches the companion pieces feature.
This case is a simple slip-in thing... perfect for eyeglasses and pencils... and the pretty brass 6-inch ruler that is included in the kit! Finishes approx 3 x 6. Complete kit contains the chart, linen, flosses, green backing fabric, button closure, gold needle and brass ruler. You'll need a bit of interfacing for finishing.

Four-Opening Frame
What a fun frame for special tiny pictures! Made by Olde Colonial, this is a Birdseye Maple frame that has an overall size of 6-1/4 inches square... and features four 2 x 2 openings! Great for the Homespun Elegance 'Littles' designs, and the Twisted Threads Monthly Gingham designs are perfect for these, as well. Something a bit unusual, and classy!

These beautiful boxes have been made to fit Jeannette Douglas's series of Stitches Samplers. Handmade by Olde Colonial, the boxes are available in the Birdseye Maple -- a rich reddish brown finish, or a smoother, darker brown finish.

Overall measurements are 9 x 11 x 3, with a top opening of approx 8-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches. Just lovely, this box is the smaller version of the box featured in My Stitching Treasures.

The larger companion to the small stapler case that is also brand new, this is a pretty design full of Queen and Rice Stitches. Stitched on 30ct linen, it uses three of the new Sampler Threads that have just arrived... so that's kind of fun! Deep reds, navys and greens, the tiny design measures just 1-1/4 x 7, and fits into the top of either of Olde Colonial's newest box shapes -- two *very* substantial pencil boxes!

Along with OC's signature Birdseye Maple smooth style, we have this decorative style, too. Total box size is approx 5-1/5 x 11 x 2-ish, with an opening on top that's ready for that little sampler! The lid is slightly recessed, and lifts completely off the box. Quite the classy desk accessory! Offered as the chart, with boxes separately. We are waiting for our Birdseye boxes to come in... and more of the embossed... as we've already sold the stash we brought home from Market!

The third piece in the Needlework Garden Basket Set, this joins the main basket and smaller Snip Basket that holds tiny thread ends. This palette case features take-outs of the main design, re-arranged on the tiny 2-inch diamond front. The reverse side features the matching green lining fabric that has a tiny pocket for a tiny 3-inch wooden thread paddle!

With five holes for your 5 overdyed threads that are included in the complete kit, this is the cutest thing! Pretty mauves, lavenders, gold and greens, it's a quick stitch, and would be cute just by itself, or with one or both of its matching pieces!

Olde Colonial�s Christmas Cube has been released� the same cute miniature pin cube format as our set of six from last year! Perfect for a Christmas Tree Ornament, you stitch two sides of your cube, and stick the tiny glass-headed pins into the other four. The complete kit contains the chart, linen, flosses, pins and hanging cord. Just a bit of stitching over one thread -- the construction isn�t hard -- but the pin placement truthfully is a bit of a challenge. It�s worth the finished product, though, because when it�s finished, it�s a mere 1-1/4 inch square cube!

This is a darling miniature 'mattress' for your desk! It'd be cute tucked into a display of needlecases and such... or perched on a shelf beside a framed sampler... you can put it lots of places!
Offered as a complete kit from Olde Colonial, it measures a mere 1-1/2 x 3 x 1/2 inches when assembled. It features tiny sampler motifs on the top, the numerals and alphabet running along the edges, and a plain bottom area to personalize.
Sporting pretty Currant, Grecian Gold, Forest Glade and Bark overdyeds, the complete kit contains the 32ct creme linen, the flosses, a tiny brass heart charm... all the necessary interfacings and stiffening inserts, complete assembly instructions and even tiny plastic pellets for the weight!!! Just something fun every stitcher really needs, because it's small and UNIQUE! OC has released a cute Box Cube Fob as well... very cute!

Remember the Pin Cubes from last year??? This is a variation on that set... with two sides of linen instead of 6. Designed to mimic the antique pin cubes which were all cardboard, this features your needlework on two sides, and the 100 tiny glass-headed pins poked into the other 4 sides.

The cube is a breeze to fold together, the stitching is both over one and two threads with pretty overdyeds on 32ct Belfast, but the pins are a bit of a challenge to apply in straight rows! (Before you construct the cube, place some graph paper over the cardboard, and using the corners as placement guides, pre-poke the pins. When the cube is square, the pins will easily go in, and be lined up!)

The complete kit contains the cube board and tape, interfacing, twisted cording, flosses, chart and applique pins!

Ohhh, this is a pretty piece! I bought some, just because I really liked them! Measuring an overall 9-1/2 x 12 inches, it features a 4-1/2 x 7-1/2 inch mirror on one side and same size opening on the other for needlework! Display horizontally or vertically, it's just such a classy presentation for your creativity!

Easel Back Horizontal Desk Clock

Such a pretty thing... this is designed to grace your desk with a touch of class! Measuring approx 4-3/4 x 8-3/4, it features a quartz movement operated by a single AA battery. A metal face, hands and works included... the opening for stitching -- or something neat of choice -- is approx 3-1/4 inches square. The easel on the back stands the clock horizontally, as shown in the pic. Very, very elegant and pretty... Jeannette Douglas and Homespun Elegance feature it in some of their designs... and I'm sure others will follow suit! It's a perfect size, and affordable as a neat gift!

Wow, this is a neat little thing! Pam Reed from Olde Colonial has created another 'have-to-have!' for your stitching bag! This kind of thing also looks stunning just displayed with your finished pieces or needlework tools in a pretty setting... so many things you can do with it! Anyway, the alphabet and vine design is stitched on 32ct Antique Ivory in overdyed Midnight floss, and touches of green and gold DMC. Your finished stitching covers one side of the wheel, the back is covered with a calico fabric.

The pins slide in and out from the edges... the wheel has little guide holes for them, so you can actually remove them to use, and put them back in again!!! The pin wheel is a pre-finished thing... gold-ball-headed pins already stuck in there and everything(!), it measures just 3-1/2 inches in diameter. The complete kit contains the chart, linen, pineapple print backing fabric, batting to puff the stitching a little, precut circles to mount the stitching and pineapple backing fabric, a tiny pineapple charm, the threads and little wheelie! I love this kind of stuff, because it's so unique and fun to have!!!

Quite the functional stitcher's gadget, this is an endearing stitching gadget -- a tape measure that is covered entirely in cross stitch!!! Your complete kit includes the retractable tape measure, linen, flosses, felt lining fabric, antiqued silver scissor charm, and wooden pull bead to stitch and assemble the most charming accessory your stitching tote has seen in some time! The picture shows it in my hand, so you can see the finished size... I just love it! The colors are soft taupes, raspberry, and moss green, it's stitched on 32ct creme linen... and truthfully, may be a challenge for some to finish. It's assembled entirely by hand... the instructions walk you through which pieces to assemble to which... and include actual sized templates for the felt interfacings. The tiny fob attached to the end of the measure is less than 1/2 x 1 inch... it's just enchanting! Available as the complete kit.

This is a cool ruler case with a matching scissor fob... such a fun and useful thing to have in your stitching basket! Stitched on 32ct Graziano Linen in green, colonial blue and gold colors, the ruler case fits the engraved brass ruler that's included in the kit. The matching fob features the twisted corded edge just like the ruler case... and all that cording is included in the kit! Finishing instructions are in there too! Complete kit includes the linens, flosses, edging, and the beautiful brass ruler! So Special!

The Olde Colonial PR3001 Mini Clock is made from Birdseye Maple. It has a 3-1/4 x 7-7/8 inch design opening. Featuring a battery powered quartz clock movement, the face is very traditional, but the clock face is square on this one. (Featured design in our model is Times Remembered from With My Needle) Overall outside measurements: 5 7/8 x 14 1/2."

Beautifully woven, miniature maple baskets have been made into pin-cushions by Olde Colonial Designs. Each measures a mere 2 1/2" in diameter, and with the puffed top, stands 3" high. There is a swing handle that adds a little charm, and a tag attached that gives mounting instructions for your needlework. Each basket features a smoothly finished maple bottom, and they are truly exquisite! $18.00 each... what a special gift for a stitcher, so many little designs would be perfect on them!
