Spring, Easter, Seasonal Cross Stitch Patterns from The Silver Needle, Fine Needlework Materials, Tulsa

There are so many wonderful designs available that celebrate every season and occasion under the sun... so we thought it'd be fun to collect a few of them, and organize them for you on a set of Holiday/Seasonal Pages. I'm a "seasons" nut... so we'll be adding to these all the time! We have so many other projects and ideas in the shop, and elsewhere on the site, but this is a fun way to show you just a few ..... ENJOY!

Erica Michaels has outdone herself again... with 4 new 40ct silk gauze designs... here are just 2! Teeny-Weeny Easter and St Pats finish approx 1-1/2 x 2... and are stitched with only a HALF a Cross Stitch, with ONE strand of floss. Just like stitching 'over one' on linen... the gauze is actually thinner than linen, so the holes are twice the size. Doesn't seem to make sense, but trust me!

Darling little designs, each is offered as the chart with bitty gauze cut. They mount into Olde Colonial's miniature frames -- we have every single one -- so your tiny masterpieces WILL turn out like these! (3 Days before Market, we had Linda's Easter model in the shop. I LOST it... and it was re-stitched in 11 hours... in time to show at Market! Lesson learned... these are exquisitely tiny... but very stitchable!!!

Bent Creek has lots of new releases... this Photobooth design is only one of half a dozen! **(Click these links to see the rest; we have charts and two kits to show.)** First photo pic... the magician is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat. Second pic... ta-da... the bunny! Third pic... what's this? A pair of white ears? Pic #4... out comes a little chick dressed up like a bunny!

Charted by Heaven and Earth, this measures a whopping 450 x 561 in stitch count -- not for the weak-of-stitcher - or a busy mother-of-the-bride!!!! A classic piece of American Folk Art!

A bright, and seemingly noisy trio of ladies... I think these 3 are IN CHARGE! Cute little design, our Mona did the finishing for it, so we think that's kind of cool!

Stitched on 30ct Cream Linen with bits of DMC and overdyed floss from your stash, this finishes approx 2-1/4 x 4. Kit comes with the chart, linen, and three orange 'beak' buttons! Chicks Rule is limited to a 1000 kit release.

Spring Fab Fob
Stitch a bright spot of Spring all in a bitty 1-3/4 x 3-1/2 inch space, and dress it up into a little scissor fob! Lizzie Kate's happy design is stitched on a 28ct Golden Lugana fabric, using just bits of hot pink 602 DMC floss, and some overdyed flosses (Huckleberry is the bright blue) from your stash.

It's garnished with a few orange and green seed beads, but what graces the cheerful design are the special Kelmscott Little Gems Scissors that are included. One handle is colored to match the Huckleberry, the other to match that 602!!!! What a fun little thing! Spring fob comes with the chart, fabric, beads and those fun, exclusive scissors! Limited to 1000 kits produced.

Lovely, generic kitchen piece, the red gingham ribbon running across the chart is included, along with a brass pear charm! 190 x 189 stitch count.

Just Nan has several new releases, her Needle Tweet 'Sisters' are a colorful trio of Needle Keepers to grace your Springtime stitching basket! Delightful little 1-1/2 x 1-3/4 linen birds, Daisy is stitched on Weeks 30ct Honeysuckle Yellow linen, Pinkie is worked on Sophie's Pink, and Lila is stitched on Lilac linen. Each Tweet is lined with a soft green hand-dyed wool from Weeks, garnished with a few glass seed beads, sports a polka-dot ribbon tail, and features lovely crystal glass flower beads (from Nan's incredible embellishment menagerie!) for their eyes.

Using snap closures, Pinkie, Daisy and Lila open to store a few precious needles. You'll notice their fancy tail feather couture... each has a Just Nan Charm Garden Tail Feather Pin, which is offered separately!!! Honestly, these are as cute as they can be! Just Nan's Winter 2010 Market Special... we came home from Market with a few of this charming little bunny nestled in his own silver Whimzi frame. Stitched with DMC flosses on 32ct hand-dyed Spring Garden Belfast Linen, he/she is just plain cross stitch... and finishes 2 x 2.

The embossed frame that is included features a stack of three embellishments to make a lavish medallion at the base of the pink ribbon hanger. Package includes the chart, linen, and frame, you supply the bits of DMC. Just precious, and very limited in edition!

This is a NEAT set of Biscornu Trios... stitch each one, and then tie them together with a flourish... to present a charming tower of tuffets! Offered in 5 x 9 mini-leaflet format, each includes a bit of hand-dyed Gloriana silk and some teeny button embellishments, the ribbon tying all together is not included.

Autumn Stackers features great specialty stitches, some teeny acorn and squirrel motifs, tiny teal, butterscotch or rose mini-button embellishments, and along with DMC flosses from your stash, you'll love the 'Fallen Leaves' Gloriana hand-dyed silk! Find some fancy ribbon or wild yard to tie all together, remember, that is not included. (but what fun to shop for!!!)

Spring Stackers features birds and rabbits, more cool stitch options, it's buttons are dusty denims, rose and moss, and the Gloriana Silk included is a soft green medley named 'Winter Brook.' Stitched on 32ct Lambswool Linen, each cushion is stitched on both sides, and finishes approx 2 x 2. Petite & Precious, I just love 'em! (6 Cuts of 9 x 9 linen for each booklet offers 3-inches around each piece... that's a fat quarter of fabric. So ONE fat quarter per leaflet. If you are *clever and careful*... you can arrange your pieces differently to economize fabric... only an inch or two between each piece, and can get BOTH leaflets out of one fat quarter.

Ohhh... another of Tina and Terri's tiny sheep... all dressed up... and waiting to go somewhere special! Lucky Sheep is adorned with your personal luck in mind. (we have casinos in Oklahoma... wonder if I should take the model along with me to one of them!?)

Just a small 4 x 4 thing... always cute, he is a companion to something like 12 other little sheep who are busy wishing you Happy Birthday and things like that! Lucky's other companions are all on our SB pages! All are complete kits of linen, flosses and really cute hand-made clay embellishments... made for each one of them!

Two more 3 x 3 window-pane designs that are stitched on 28ct Newport Linen in shades of Crescent, Weeks, and Gentle Art overdyed flosses. Both are the same size as quite a few of SB's windowpane designs... and these two have new hand-made button embellishments as well.

Always a face... did you notice that? We have a Santa, Snowman, Frankenstein... and now a Snowgirl (but a sheep -- and he's not a face!!! -- my observation is wrong -- so just ignore me!) Get the charts... and stitch away! Spring is on Antique White with soft blue stripes, and Winter is on Antique Tan with cream stripes. Both are offered as single charts with buttons available separately.

Garden of Summer! Wouldn't you love to have strawberries growing like that in your garden?

Stitch count of 85 x 148, it is a companion to the Spring Garden piece.

Pine Mountain has a few new designs... her March Expressions is a medley of bright lemon-y yellows and lime-y greens... breezy, luck, kites flying... they're all in her 5 x 5 cross-stitched design area. The pillow fabrics are awesome, so cheerful and bright! It comes as the ready-made sham with the pretty organza ribbons that you simply tie around the stuffer form (available separately) when you're finished.

Look at all these darling new pins we have!! We've pictured three of our 9 new things... click the pic to see all the rest! Handmade in France by *one* very busy artist... each little polymer clay-topped pin is handmade, and each is slightly different than the rest.

I've chosen the tiny mushrooms and carrots to show you, because they are 3-dimensional. The Frogs and lily pads are slices -- just like our other pin sets. Absolutely precious, they're too cute simply stuck into pretty cushions or embellishment toppers on ornaments and such.

A favorite from last year... I thought I'd re-introduce this darling pattern, because the tin it uses is so very limited in availability! This time of year, The Russell Stover Chocolate Company makes pastel-colored tins full of chocolate with their traditional cross-stitched motifs on the top of the tin.

Stitching Parlor has taken the seasonal pink, yellow and green tins and charted linings for the empty tin -- once the chocolate has been devoured! This charming cross stitch design matches the decoration on the tins, and with all the different colors of hand-dyed linens available... you can match the interior the your tin's exterior color! Simple cross-stitches, I just thought this was so charming when I saw it! The chase has been to find the tins -- but Valentine candy goes away next Sunday, February 15th... and Easter Candy instantly appears!!!

Anyway... FIND your tin... and then agonize over interior linen color! Turns out the Weeks Hand-dyed Sophie's Pink, Banana Popsicle and Scuppernong linen look great with all the Crescent Colours in all the tins!!! Decisions, decisions -- at least you'll have chocolate to eat while thinking that hard!

Everyone loves these charming little birds of Valerie Pfeiffer's, their tiny backstitch details make their feathers come alive!!! You'll recognize single birds taken from her other designs that are surrounded by a wreath of seasonal florals. Offered in chart format, each design finishes approx 8 x 8 on 28ct.

The charting on these is a bit different than our US designers use... these patterns feature some half and quarter stitches. Instead of a tiny 1/4 stitch... you work the whole X, but over one thread. Consequently, you'll need to choose an 'over two' fabric... not Aida for these. So cute!

Crossed Wing has a fun new piece available... it's a day-trip to the Dog Park! The luscious trees -- complete with a squirrel and a few birds for entertainment -- provide shade for all the darling dogs below. Actually quite large, this is stitched on Crossed Wing's exclusive hand-painted 28ct linen that is specially colored for THIS piece! It starts with gentle greens at the bottom, and changes to blue skies at the top!

Your piece WILL look like the pic, with the green behind the dogs and the blue sky! Finishing approx 11 x 22-1/2, this is stitched in DMC flosses, along with some Week's Dye Works, as well. You could always go thru your Crossed Wing stash of designs and add more birds or a dog or two to this, too! Perfect for a Vet's Office!!! Offered as the chart, with linen separately.

A colorful garden of Springtime flowers lined up in the Spring sunshine... 11 colors of Crescent's hand-dyed flosses are needed to stitch this tiny 1 x 2 inch wonder! Worked in half crosses (only the first stitch of an X) these really do stitch quickly!

Offered as the chart with 40ct silk gauze, you CAN stitch these on any other fabric as well -- because, remember, you do have the chart! Summer is due out in a few weeks, which will complete the 4-Seasons set.

Sandy has released 4 new pillow kits -- one in each of her current styles -- and they're ALL cute! March's Flange features AWESOME lime green, aqua and soft brown prints. Friends Listen is the latest Tie One On -- bows at each end. Be Hoppy is an Easter-themed Top Tie pillow -- bows are at the top on that one. Spring Fling has darling chicks dancing on eggs -- that one features the stitching across the top of the pillow, bow in the center.

Basically, all of these come as complete kits of the ready-hand-made fabric sham. You stuff a re-useable pillow form inside, and it's FINISHED! Allways fresh, current fabrics, pretty colors, flosses included and 10ct!!!

Crescent Colours has released an exclusive design stitched with their threads, by Country Cottage's Nikki Lehman. Absolutely charming in color and design element, the chart comes with 10 complete skeins of crescent's hand-dyed cotton floss, and a packet of Just Another Button Co clay shells and birds.

Stitched on 28ct Natural linen (fabric options are many -- you supply that part), this finishes approx 8-1/2 x 11-1/2. All the little beach houses are just perched right there on the beach, waiting for weekend inhabitants!!! Wonderful, dusty colors, it looks weatherworn and relaxing! Too Cute!

Leave it to Nan to take the 'ordinary' biscornu to the next level... by adding 13 more sides!!!!! I know she wasn't a geometry major in school, but she's figured out the proportions to create an exquisite 15-sided pin cushion! Decorated with tiny motifs that are balanced, and placed to 'present well to your eye' from each of their respective angles, your 15-piece creation is just stunning!!! A vision of flowers, 13 different motifs, creating 15 different florals and medallions are stitched on 28ct Antique White and Mint Green Cashel linens in a garden rainbow of silks, each tiny section is stitched.

Isn't this the sweetest Springtime Easter Bunny? Quietly sitting amongst the daffodils in a garden of decorated eggs, Dewdrop is stitched on Weeks Dye Works 30ct Morris Blue hand-dyed linen in DMC flosses.

Embellished with a few tiny glass beads, there is a frosted aqua-blue flower bead that graces the bunny's neck. Dewdrop finishes approx 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 and fits into her very own pewter/crystal/glass frame (limited in production) which features an easel back, and overall measurement of 4 x 4.

This year... we have a set of 6 new magnet designs... most of them aimed at tempting you to break your diet!!! Stitch a miniature root beer float, a bucket of popcorn, a tall and frosty glass of lemonade... or go right for the banana split!!! There is a darling little flip-flop design... but we know the run-away best seller will be the festive Happy Birthday greeting!!!

What an awesome collection of high-impact designs this Spring!!! Flowers and Vegetables... choose your theme and stitch all three (or six!) I personally love, love, love the vegetables, they are stitched on a very light green paper (or 28ct linen), and accented with all that shaded and stippled background. The flowers are all stitched on black paper -- very dramatic. (If black isn't kind to your eyes, think about a background color of fabric, and STITCH that thin black border around each design instead. Lots of ways around the 'black issue!')

Lovely, crisp, fresh and contemporary designs this year... the colors are delicious... *Very Eyecatching!!!* Offered as the complete kit of chart, paper, flosses beads and button... each finishes approx 5 x 5. When the spring breezes blow, the violets all share, their sweet smelling scent with the birds in the air. A sweet Springtime piece... if you start it now... you'll be done in time for those blossoms! Well, I have a grandson this would be perfect for... oh, if only I stitched! (No, your Weary Webmaster, writing this description in Lindy's absence, doesn't stitch... isn't that ironic?) The design has a historic flavor that reminds me of the time of the old NY Yankees... Babe Ruth and all that.

Little Ballerinas, a design for dancers and those who love them, is the same size, and also includes the alphabet. The overdyed threads used in some areas give you more dimension, don't you think?

Bunnies, Carrots, Blue Birds, Flowers and Greens... all tucked into Mr McGregor's organized and intriguing garden-in-the-round! Running rabbits... all chasing round and round... all the carrots to savor... all the colorful flowers and vegetables... everything is tucked into this 9-inch circular garden! Stitched on 28ct natural linen in colorful shades of Madeira flosses and metallics, it features lots of back and quarter stitches, simply because so much of the piece is 'on the angle.'

Liz has designed all those running rabbits... stitched in every angle... but not one is distorted; all of this design is balanced and neatly in place! Pretty springtime colors, lots of small details, the areas of greenery are stitched with Leaf and Plait Stitches. Just Nan's third breathtaking seasonal manor house sampler has also arrived. I would be thrilled to live at Bellemeade, Winterhaven or Silkwood Manor... but I'm not so sure I could afford the mortgage!!! A commanding piece, Bellemeade finishes approx 9-1/2 x 13 on 30ct Cameo Shell Legacy Linen. Lovely borders and motifs, the verse reads While summer days are long and sweet, with blossoms ever new, I'll show to others of my time, what clever hands can do. Offered as the chart with overdyed silk, beads and gold butterfly charm; silks and linen offered separately. I just love this!!!

A precious bunny-run-around scene... these Spring Runners are racing through the blooming daffodils... chasing, chasing, chasing... (or being chased by my little dogs!!!) Stitched on 32ct Flax Belfast linen in regular DMC flosses, the tiny pic measures just 2-3/4 inches square. The intricate daffodil bouquet charm in the center is a lovely miniature 5/8-inch hand-painted creation that features three yellow flowers -- so detailed! I just love the colors, very "Springy!' Daffodil Run is pictured inside a very heavy, yet delicately filigreed pewter frame. Scattered with tiny enameled flowers on the front, the back of the frame has a small easel stand-up... and it all looks perfectly wonderful here, at home, on my desk!!!

Six new designs this year... they kind of belong in pairs! The Country Morning Rooster and Camping In The Woods go together. Next we have two Spring Potting designs... and finally, two delicious-looking, frosty-cool green drinks!!!

Offered as complete kits, each is stitched on 14ct perforated paper (our shop models are always on 28ct linen), with loads of flosses, beads and a button or two. Finishing approx 5 x 5... I can't wait for the models to get stitched!!!

Here are the newest 3 x 3 ornament and pin-sized designs... I absolutely LOVE the little birds... the flower pots are colorful and go with the larger Bead and Button Kits... and I have to think about the Dream and Diva a little... but you know... this set simply offers something for everyone!

Offered as complete kits of the 14ct perforated paper, flosses, beads and a glass Treasure, as well as a pin back finding, these are a great value, and look so cute dangling from a Spring Tree branch or even the kitchen cabinet knob!

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... see all the trees -- their many greens and browns -- throughout the seasons... Spring at the left... flowing into Winter at the right. Rosewood Manor's Karen Kluba has a real talent for her trees, her lacy motifs, her full, balanced, busy and intriguing designs! You can study her things over and over again, and each time, you're treated to some new little detail tucked somewhere in there! Seasons of the Trees is no different!

Offered as a leaflet, this is stitched on 28ct and measures a generous 11 x 18. Worked with regular DMC flosses... you'll use 48 of them from your stash! Her charts are huge... and best of all... in paging through the leaflet, I find 14 BONUS charts... little (and some a bit larger) take-outs from the main design that are suitable for needle books, ornaments, fobs, and mini-samplers! There is so much in here... if you like this one, check out 'And a Forest Grew' and the two Christmas Stockings -- Cranberries and Pines! Really unique, definitely worth your stitching time!

Every Irish-Loving household needs this adorning its walls, tables, shelves or sills!!! So pretty... this heart-full-of-Irish-Love is stitched using lots of special stitches like Diamond Eyelets, Satins, and lots variations of both!

Green and white petite seed beads, green and white flosses and perle cottons, crystal pailettes (pronounced Pie-Yets, with the emphasis on the Yets), white Cats-Eye Luminescent heart beads and SHT's lovely sterling Shamrock charm, this is stitched on 28ct Lambswool and finishes approx 6-1/2 inches square. Very, very lacy and pretty, it should be lots of fun to stitch!

These are gorgeous pin cushions that match her Teenie Tweenie Scissor Fobs!!! Biscornu (pronounced bis-core-new, but I've heard it bis-corn-you, too!) refers to a shape. The shape of the these 3 x 3 cushions is almost an optical illusion. The pillow is actually constructed of two squares of material, joined together with the corners offset from each other! So, now that the finishing isn't scary anymore... you can stitch these in a jiffy and either use them as ornaments or pincushions!

Offered as a set of the chart, 32ct Opalescent Raw Belfast Linen, and a small packet of beads, pearls and corner embellishments, you supply the DMC flosses needed. Each biscornu matches a tiny scissor fob Sweetheart Tree published last year... and we do know that Sandy is planning to make more of these to match SOME of the existing fobs. (but we don't know which ones, or timing yet!) Lovely!

Needlework accessories worked with Colonial and French Knots... this is a charming set that's done with the same technique her miniature knotted rugs are... but finished into a special set of stitching cases!!! A pastel garden of flowers surrounds this busy beehive... and I love that yellow and butterscotch checkered border that sets it all off!!! Three coordinating pieces, each of the stitched pieces is offered stamped onto the heavy ground muslin.

Complete instructions are provided for 'knotting' and finishing everything... but I'm guessing this is for a bit of an advanced stitcher and seamstress -- (I can knot, but I can't sew, so I'll send mine out for finishing!!!) The stitched areas feature knots done in one stand of floss, to create a soft looks that reminds you of miniature punch needle! Your scissor case will finish approx 2-1/4 x 3-1/2, Needlebook will measure approx 2 x 2-1/2, and the fob is a 1-1/4 x 1/2 inch oval.

Included in the package are the patterns stamped on the fabric, needles, acid-free boards for forms, ivory flannel for needlebook pages, lobster claw clasp for the fob, and instructions for everything! Absolutely exquisite... this will DEFINITELY become a treasured heirloom!!! Another exquisite 11 x 3 design, punch the flock of sheep in Harvest Basket, Shaker White, Flax, Parchment, then pick something for that darker little guy! Flowers are Gingersnap and Mulberry colors!

I love this one! That peaceful sheep is standing in a field of lavender... with his bird friend softly perched on his back!

Pretty color, (the flowers are punched in Sugarplum and Blueberry) this finishes approx 5-1/2 x 4. Background is Tarnished Gold. Very Country French!

The Trilogy releases two new Secret Garden pieces... they coordinate with all 7 of the rest in this series!!! Really cute, each is offered as a kit of chart, 32ct Belfast Linen and button embellishments -- you add the floss.

Fun little 4 x 4 collages of tiny motifs, Secret Crush definitely has a top and bottom... while Shamrock and the rest have things facing every-which direction scattered throughout!

Charming, we keep finishing our shop models into stand-up cubes, because they present so well that way. Browse down the Trilogy page to see if you can spot the rest of these... Secret Snowdrift has been the favorite so far, with Flower coming in second! All are fun!

More little, delicate bugs... these are the yellow kind that you see every-so-often! (I've never actually thought about how rarely I see the yellow ones... but I know they're special...) Just like our red ones, these are incredibly involved... stitched over one thread on 32ct Glenshee linen... and are miniature works of needleart!

Composed of gorgeous yellow, golds, mustards, and into browns (28 different DMCs... plus 12 tweeded blends...!), the complete kit offers the linen, all the threads pre-tied onto numbered palettes, metallics and lots of detailed charts to help with all the backstitch detail. Just do one for a tiny fob... or stitch the whole piece... it measures only 4 x 4-3/4 inches!!! Exquisite!
