Each is available in several different woods, and you MUST read about all of them! We 'get what we get' with these pieces. The woods are absolutely breathtaking... so whichever wood your piece is worked from... it is truly a unique piece directly from nature. Please use the 'Comments Box' on the order form if you need to specify a particular tone of wood, and we'll *try* to help with that. Some woods aren't hard enough to be used in specific pieces... some lend themselves to shapes better than others. Every one of these is a treat! | |
 Wooden Needle and Scissor Case SetsOh my goodness... our 'Wood Man' has turned some gorgeous scissor sheath and needlecase sets for us!!! Available as a matched set, each wooden sheath is custom-fitted to a pair of 3-1/2 inch Stainless, genuine Henckels brand pair of scissors (included). Perfectly shaped, simply slip your scissors inside, and the sheath hugs them in place. Beautifully polished, and perfectly smooth, the sheaths measure approx 3 inches in length. Then, each sheath has a matching needlecase! Reminding me of little chess figures, cases are approx 3-1/2 inches high, and feature a snug-fitting pull-off lid, opening to reveal a place for your needles. Just exquisite... he's made these in lots of exotic woods -- and each is as pretty as the last. Definitely an 'upper-end' gift for a stitcher, or something awesome for your tools collection or sampler display... you can choose other pieces in the same woods or mix and match all of it! Just too wonderful for words!!! If you really have your heart set on a light vs dark color of wood...etc... just let us know... but ALL of them are pretty!  Wooden Awls in CasesGosh... these are elegant and special!!! Ultra-smooth, these 6-inch cases measure approx 5/8 an inch in diameter, and feature a contrasting ball-top that screws on and off. Open your case... and inside is a tiny surprise! A matching wooden awl is safely stored inside until you're ready to use it! A thin tool used to help poke stubborn fabrics into corners (if you're making a pillow or something), or a smooth laying tool to control multiple strands of threads... the tip works perfectly to 'tease' open a hole for eyelet stitches as well! Anyhow, the awl inside measures approx 4-3/4 long and a slender 5/16 of an inch wide. (These are a bit smaller than the individual awls we also have.) Very elegant and classy... the 'turns' (patterns) on each case we have are all different! | |
 Wooden Acorn 24-Inch Tape MeasuresTeeny-weeny little wooden acorns hold quite the treasure!!! Just like our tiny bells, these acorns measure approx 1 x 1-1/2 inches, with a smooth and delicate 1/2 inch stem. The nut is one color wood, top contrasts, and does not open. Hidden inside is a ribbon tape measure that simply pulls out of the THIN slit in the acorn. Then, twist that tiny stem carefully, to retract the 24-inch ribbon tape! These are miniature works of art! And of course... pretty cool next to our matching acorn thimble cases! I love this kind of thing. For a stitcher... it's CANDY! It's something so neat and fun.. something to tuck into a special case or shadowbox... something to take along to stitching weekends... something to perch along-side a special piece of needlework... just anything! | |
Soldier's Friend This is a lovely needlecase and thread-holder combination. Patterned from antique military equipment... the soldier kept his sewing supplies close at hand with this system. Rounded end pulls off to reveal a needlecase area. The other end features 4 'spools' to wind threads. Measuring approx 3/4 x 5-3/4 inches... this would make a beautiful accent piece to antique samplers. Wind with some threads left over from a new heirloom piece, and place nearby... or include in a needlework shadowbox piece... | |
Seam Ripper Well... nobody EVER needs one of these! Your hands will just fondle and LOVE the feel of this piece! Measuring approx 1/2 x 5-1/4, the top slips off to reveal a seam ripper blade to fix your every mistake!!! If you buy this, we will assume it is because you love beautiful things, and not because you make lots of mistakes that need to be corrected! Very smooth and 'quiet.' | |
 Bell Tape MeasureThis is the neatest little thing! It's a tiny school-bell, with a 24-inch satin/fabric tape measure wrapped inside! Measuring just 2 x 1-1/4 overall... pull the looped end to reveal that little tape measurer! Then, to conceal it again... twist the bell handle... and away goes the tiny tape! Very unique, very special... a miniature engineering miracle! | |
 Wooden AwlThis dangerous-looking stitching weapon is used to tuck and poke your fabrics when you are turning pillows and stuffing tiny cushions -- that sort of thing. That point takes control over the fabrics and puts them where you want them! It's also a great laying tool! Notice the loose wooden rings near the top??? That's decoration. Think about it... HOW DID HE GET THOSE RINGS ON THERE, when they are too small to fit over the top??? He CARVED them there... he took the wood, and crafted them in place! They are so smooth and dangly!!! Your awl measures approx 1/2 x 5-1/2 inches... same general size as the seam ripper and upcoming threader piece! | |
 Bunka BrushBunka is the name for a type of embroidery that raises the nap on threads. Stitch with Wisper thread -- or anything sort of furry. Then use your 'Bunka Brush' to pick at it and brush it to raise the nap and make it more furry. SO COOL for Santa's Fur, bunny tails and animal fur, tree garland, anywhere you want texture from your threads! Even works to fuzz up punch needle embroidery pieces. This handy little gadget has the cool loose ring embellishment that is a mystery of creation to me on the handle, the wonderful, soothing smooth handle, and the brush attached to the other end. It measures approx 1/2 x 6 inches. Functional and pretty! | |
 Needle MindersWow... this features one of those micro-extra-strength-science-fiction micro magnets! A tiny 1-1/2 inch disk featuring two different types of wood... stick the bottom magnet underneath your fabric, and the wooden minder on top... and your needle has no choice but to obey!  Acorn Thimble HolderProbably my personal favorite piece out of this entire collection, is this delightful, perky and understated little acorn case!!! Made from contrasting woods, cap and base are light or dark, respectively. Something special about these little guys... they can only be make from very hard woods, as the top ACTUALLY screws onto the bottom. The woods need to be stable enough that our wood-man can create 'threads' on them, and they can stand up to the friction and stress of another piece trying to screw onto them! Measuring only 1-1/4 x 1-3/4, these are tiny, smooth works of art!!! | |
  Acorn Thimble NecklaceHere's another awesome wooden acorn... this one is fitted with a gold screw finding... connecting the acorn bottom to its top. Threaded onto a satin cord, unscrew the acorn top to find a cavity large enough for a special thimble. Measuring approx 1-1/4 x 1-3/4, this is a smooth piece that you cannot take out of your hands! You can replace the satin cord with a chain of your choice... so there are lots of options open with this one! | |
 LoRan ThreaderIn the same design vein as the Seam Ripper and Awl, this wonderful piece features the same loose ring decoration as the rest of its kind... and a securely recessed LoRan brand needle threader at its end.
